can you tell me about the calls you got from this number?

I got a message from this number on May 14. They said they were looking for someone who doesnt live here. (They gave my ex husbands current wife's name. Not sure if it was coincidental). They referred to a case # and a court date. I researched the name of the firm online (Fredericks, Goldstein and Zoe) and this is what I found:

Its a different number than they left for me but sounds like the same place. It's a total scam. Trying to get information and money from you.
The return number they left for me was 888-234-4685.

Got a call from this number referring to a Madison county court case. Didn't wring a bell and since most lawyers will send a letter, I decided to look up the phone number on line and found this site. Person who left the message was nearly unintelligible in that I had to listen to the message several times to understand it. Another scam I see.

I too keep receiving calls from this place.  Sometimes different people or different return numbers but they all revert back to the same company.  They tried this about 8 months ago and when I called back they htried to claim I didn't pay a credit card bill.  I got the info from them but when I called the department store they said that account had been closed for over 8 years because it had not been used, NOT because it was not paid.
They do keep threatening send a petition for me and a court case in my area.  But I do not owe anyone any back money and I refuse to call them back.  They call every day but I'm not answering.....TOTAL SCAMMERS.
Its about time I think I will file a complaint with the FTC and my state attorney general.

I do not know how these low-life scum sucking jerk bags can LIE and do crap like this.  PLEASE PEOPLE, DO NOT let people like this scare you. What they do is buy OLD written off files from creditors for pennies on the dollar, then try to collect the amounts owed. These people are RELENTLESS. They even called MY BROTHER, who had NO CLUE what they were talking about or WHY they would be calling him, especially when my sister had a different last name AND HE had NOTHING to do with the creditor. They harassed HIM and told HIM to get an attorney???  My brother is a cop, he knew right away that this was all a scam. They do it to SCARE PEOPLE IN TO PAYING OLD BILLS and will try any sneaky ILLEGAL way to do it. PLEASE REPORT THESE JERKS!!

Got a message on answering machine claiming to be from law offices of "something, Goldstein & Young" leaving a message for a Dorothy Lamenta, case number 1231060. I called back to  let them know they had not reached the right party; unfortunately their caller id showed them my number and name, which they repeated, then apologized and promised to correct their records and remove our number...could not find any info online for this "law firm", then later found this site...keep sharing the info!  I am following up with reports to the sheriff's office, telephone company and newspaper.  Who knows what these bums are up to.

I got a call 2 days ago. They said I owe money for a credit card I never had. Told me to get a lawyer and see them in court. When I said ok I think I will, they got mad and started cussing. The best thing to do is just don't even talk to them

Has anyone ever went to court with these people?  Jus curious.

I just received a call from this company, I have reported them to the better business bureau.  I recommend everyone does the same.  Thank you for this site.  This information is very valuable.

I have received 2 messages from this number stating they were looking for someone regarding a court petition against one of my ex- relatives. Gave a case number.

I just got a message from this number and I also had to listen to it many times to hear what she was saying, it was the correct last name but wrong first name.

Total scam....same story as you all

It would help if they hired people that can actually speak the English language.  Sounds like they have 10 piercings in their tongues.

Exactly! My sister called me from Ohio (I live in Georgia), saying this woman contacted her from this number about a civil court case against me and tried scaring my sister into giving up my number and address. My sister told her she would pass the info on to me but would not give her my information. They didn't even know my married name and I've been married for years. Their information was so outdated. I told her right off the bat it was a scam. I don't owe anyone and any real legal action would involve legal letters. Lawyers write letters,so they can use them later in court, they don't make phone calls.

Please people, don't let these scum bags scare you or your family members into paying them anything.

Message on answering machine:
"This is Mrs. Jones calling on behalf of the law offices of Fredriks, Goldstein and (garbled) caling concern (sic) a petition being filed for a court order for(our oldest son who does not live with us, not even in the same city). I need immediate response from either yourself or an attorney representing you, in San Francsico County Court. My number is 888-234-4685 x 515." She then continued to give a case number and said (I belive -this too was garbled) they would call back often and will refer to the case number that will follow through the entire proceeding.  "Mrs. Jones" sounded like she was reading from a script, stumbling, garbling words, and not very professional.

Knowing that attorneys don't phone you saying they are going to file, looked up the number and found this site.

My call was from Fredricks, Goldstein, and Zoe and the story was the same as yours, down to the case number and speech like she had a mouth full of marbles. 3 listens later, I got the entire message.

Rick's Mom has it down pat my call was from a Clifton and his extension is 516...tried to call back to find out what the problem was and the answering service said 'whale back systems' and no one ever answered the extension. I have already reported them to the Do Not Call.gov site and now will go to the FTC we are also military so I will visit JAG and tell them so if they dare to call again!

Persistent rude person from 888-234-4685 calling for my stepson who has never lived with us.  Leaves messages. Even after I called to say he is not residing at our address, the calls continue. Would like to report to phone company or someone to stop calls.

Ugh...They called my mothers house looking for my mother in law...Too wierd. I love arguing with these people so I called and left them a message. We shall see their story. BTW the message they left at my mothers house was the same as all the others above. I can't wait to give them a taste of their own medicine. Google Dave Ramsey if you've never heard of him. Genious!

They're Back!!!! I first got calls in May 2009 from this company and after about 2 weeks they stopped.  But they started up again about 3 days ago.  The woman, rhonda Smith asks that I call her back at Fredricks, goldstein and Zoe and be sure to inclue my "account" number.   I just delete the messages.  These people are getting to be annoying.
