Debt scam artist

jut askd who are the answer was the mediation dept I told the wrong number and hang up

I was given a file number and a phone number to call back and was told it was for my mother in law, and it was a civil legal complaint

This number called my sister-in-law's cell phone (have no idea how they got her cell number) asking for me.  My sister-in-law is an attorney so she asked where they were calling from and what it was in regards to.  They wouldn't give her any information, said it was personal and it was a civil complaint.  I've never given out my family's phone numbers, so I don't know how they connected the two of us.

They called my brother and said to contact file KT-4929 about a debt and to call 888-266-1702  he was a location specialist and needed to call the 888 number

This call just came to my office for the State of California!!

This #is New Star Mediation in San Diego, Ca. They called my mother's # to find me about an account with under $500 due from 2003. It's 2019? 16 years later... Really... Had a decent offer but I don't have the money, not the one time payment nor the 6 month payment plan. Guess we will have to go to court.

They could not legally sue you in any state.  A "decent offer"?  For what, a debt that probably doesn't even exist and if it did payment to a criminal trying to extort money?

Got a call from this number saying it was a civil complaint against me said I had to call another number they gave me a case number number was 1888 266 1702 case number KT 0155

I was given a tracking number for a package that they needed to deliver to me and I needed to be home to receive it. No thanks.

Same as Cookie, above. Long voicemail from an unknown number. They gave me a tracking number (which doesn't work on United Courier Service, which is the company they claim to be) and the phone number (888-266-1702) which rings until a voicemail service picks up which does not identify the company name, business hours, or anything of the sort. Most likely a scam.

So I didnt miss any sort of package,  they gave a tracking number in voicemail. It's a scam.

They left a message on my cell phone and said they had been trying to deliver a package and had missed me twice already .I got ahold of them it was a 13 year old cell phone bill.I'm disabled and just had another nervous breakdown .I made the mistake of giving them my debit card number .this world is EVIL !!!!!

If you gave them your debit card number, cancel it immediately.

The whole premise is ridiculous!
I don't care who they are, they can't tell me to be somewhere to receive an unsolicited "package" from an unknown source.
It's not my interest or responsibility to help them with something that's none of my business.
"Denied."
