Schwab fraud protection automated system calling to ask if I just made a $300 purchase at a Lego store. I didn't. The system put a block on my account and told me to call customer service at the number on the back of the card to arrange for a new card to be sent. When I called back to get a new card, they asked for a lot more information than the automated system does, he verified that there was a block put on the account by the automated system, and then in less than 5 minutes I had a new card being sent to me.

This number is legit.  They questioned a charge that came through literally seconds after it was run.  It belongs to Charles Scwab

Legitimate number. Called the # on the back of my Charles Schwab card and asked if there was fraudulent activity on my card, they said yes my card had been used three states away while I had used it the same day. They said the 2276280 number is VISA.

Legit.  I contacted Charles Schwab through the 24 hour 800 number on the back of my debt card and they verified it is their Visa Fraud Automated system.  They had three reasonable concerns about recent activity on my card.  I'm marking unknown because there is no reasonable option below.

This is a VISA (Schwab Bank #). They called because of foreign use of a debit card - all good. Lucky for me, they don't cut you off right away. A bit frustrating in that a computer reads off your transactions and asks you to verify; no human contact..oh well.

It's real. What are the odds, that they would know that, I have a Schwab card, that I used the ATM at a certain date and time AND the last four of my card number.  If they know all of that, they don't need to scam me! Also, notice all the references to Schwab here. If you don't trust it, call the number on the back of your card and discuss with Schwab your latest transactions.

This is a Charles Schwab CC fraud protection.

I am the phone right now with Schwab and they are checking with Visa for my card.
Okay, they just said it was from VISA and it is legitimate. Just don't worry it is fraud prevention from Visa for your Schwab Visa card.

In reading the notes below I can't decide if this is a sophisticated fraud (the more sophisticated it is, the more people will be fooled & swear it's legitimate) or if it is Visa (not Schwab) doing an amazingly incompetant job of tracking down fraud on Schwab's Visa-based debit/ATM card. Either way I don't like it. If you have any doubts you should never give out personal information. In this particular case, I was called four times in one day when there was no hint of fraud on the account. There was no reason whatsoever to investigate, as confirmed by Schwab Bank. I ignored the first three calls and the voice mail message left only on the first call. On the fourth call I told the caller to get lost (in much worse language) and I'm not sorry. Pestering people with illogical automated requests that are then spoken live with a strange accent is not how to do a legitimate investigation, if that's what it was. So far all is well. The card even works online to make a charitable contribution. This kind of thing gives one gray hairs. A plague on both their houses!

I got a call from 888-277-6280, it is fraud prevention from Charles Schwab. I called the number on the back of my bank card and they confirmed that this is a legit number. And it did have a fraud transaction on my bank card.

People, 888-277-6280 IS A FRAUD.  This was verified by Schwab.  The representative found that this is NOT Visa a scam well-documented on the internet.  Do not give an automated system with a number that is NOT affiliated with Schwab. If ever unsure, contact Schwab legitimately on the back of your card or online statement.

Getting phishing calls from this number.  Spoofing — may be a real number but the call is fake.  Called Schwab and they said there was no fraud on my account.

The called saying they were Visa Fraud protection.  Beware.
