Did you ever get this resolved? I'm getting harassing calls as well from them

She is harassing me as well..

Keeps calling will not answer.

The lady was very rude  and I wanted to know if this was a scam

Got a call asking about debt and said he was from Brent M Morris PC law firm.

History of debt scamming.  THis group is the subject of at least one civil action in PA.

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they are bothering you, report them:

Note that the US Supreme Court in the Case of HENSON ET AL. v. SANTANDER CONSUMER USA INC., has recently ruled that the provisions of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act do not apply if the creditor owns the debt in question.  As a practical matter this probably won't effect the kinds of scam debt collectors who often show up on 800notes.  The scam collectors don't give you any information about themselves so it is impossible to know whether or not they in fact "own" the debt in question.  Most do not send debt validation letters and many often say they are collecting for someone else.  So, make the complaint anyway if they are bothering you.  Let the FTC sort it out.

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.

I just received a call this morning also from a WOMAN (I forgot her name) working in a LAW OFFICE!!!  I professionally pretended that I was a SECRETARY, and needed to take A MESSAGE..... she started to get nervous.  I demanded the name of the company she worked for and requested a call back number.  She gave me both information........When I googled the number, I stumbled upon several COMPLAINTS on the internet, about this number with SIMILAR experiences!

THIS IS HARASSMENT........and it NEED TO STOP.....  The STATE or GOVERNMENT need to do something to DETER these people from getting away with these CRIMINAL BEHAVIORS!!!

I find it interesting that you seem to have stopped reading at the first post and then replied to it (it was made 4 years ago), but never got to the post with the answers you need.  Instead of the "gubmint" doing everything for you, why can't you use the law to your advantage, one that has been in place since 1977?

Law offices of Moore and Associates. Wanted me to confirm my date of birth. I advised them all correspondence should be directed to my PO Box. They hung up on me.

I received a call from them today and they left a message asking for my husband and claiming they were the Law Office of Bright and Boylan. The lady's name was Latoya so I'm assuming they changed the name of  their law office now.

Very good chance of that as they want to try to keep from getting reported and sued as much as possible.

Teresa left a voicemail. Didn’t state who she was calling for. Just verified that a debt was to be collected and to call back. I deleted it. If there wasn’t a “Hello this is x I’m calling for x in regards to a debt...” then don’t call back. Simple.
