recieved a call from this number while i was driving home from vacation!  listened to the message about an outstanding debt i needed to take care of. OR ELSE!! ahahaha  i dont have any outstanding debts, never have. so i knew it was a scam. wouldnt give them the courtesy of a call back if my life depended on it.

Getting 5-10 calls per week.  Answered today and was told that a Debra Smith in MN had signed for a pay day loan for a Tracy Smith who listed my phone number as a reference for the loan.  Told him this was a business line, had it for 25 years, did not know a Tracy, did not sign for a loan.  He then asked me to go to the office in Lancaster, PA to look at application.  Told him I lived in NC, had never been to PA.    He said he woldl remove my phone number.

Today I received my second phone call from these people. I have turned the matter over to my attorney as these folks are total scammers...DO NOT SEND THEM ANY MONEY OR EVEN TALK TO THEM!!!

This company keep harrasing me of a payment, which I've never dealt this this bank.  They even offered me a settlement and still I stated I've never dealth with this bank.  I was informed court papers will arrive at my attention and be prepared to meet in court.  This needs to stop. How do you stop these harrassing calls and sue their butts. Please someone stop this number from harrassing people 1-888-295-3814.

Received a recorded message today from these people threatening me with a court document number to be turned over to their attorneys for a serving of the documents..I contacted my attorney and he told me that these people are scam artists and not to talk to them and definitely not to pay them anything.

I used to work for a ligit debt collection agency and although BofA does not sell their accounts, they absolutely send them out to collection agencies to collect for them. I was a BofA collector for ARS and we followed the FDCPA to the letter as our clients insisted that we do. If this was a ligit call form an agency they would be happy to give you ALL their info, and it would all check out, not be an abandon building.....

I guess you didn't read any of the posts. In almost all cases, they did not ever owe the debt, or it was paid off....The FDCPA is in place to make sure a collection agency treats you with respect...No threats are ever okay, especially saying they are going to serve you and it is not true....if the debt was a good one, i'm sure it would get paid...I took out a payday loan years ago, and PAID IT BACK!!! I have bank statements to prove it. So, when these idiots call me, it is VERY uncalled for.....

I called a lawyer and gave them the information..it is a scam

They keep calling my work number and the person they are looking for is NOT EVEN ME! It's a recording (they give no person's name, no company name) and they keep saying "this is the last attempt to contact you or we will turn this over to our attorneys".  I have received about 10 of these calls and I'm sick of it! I am NOT the person you are looking for!!

I just received a call from PR Associates (1-888-295-3814) stating that I have a past due payday loan - Which I Do Not - I proceeded to ask when it was from and the person named David, just hung up.  I also left a message for Michael Stone at the same # - Total Scam - a company did the same thing back in 2012 & I reported everything to the BBB in upstate NY.

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

No, it's the opposite of what Thia wrote, which was that the "burden of proof rests with the debtor". The Missourian was right to challenge the incorrect statement. I expect it was a malaprop moment, as I've seen that Thia knows better. Strike "debtor" for the word "creditor" or "collector".

I just received not 1 but 2 calls within 2 days. Both have called my Aunts house threatening her with court because supposedly she is a co-signer on a loan or something for me. Today I actually got a voice mail from a PR Associates 1-888-295-3814 ext. 101 Frank Warren I think. Idk he talked way too low. He gave me a case number and told me to respond immediately or I will summoned to court for bank fraud. I still have no idea what this guy is talking about so either me or my husband will call tomorrow telling them to either produce proof of this case in writing and sent to my house or leave me alone.

Please do file reports with the FBI, your state attorney general and Department Of Justice,FTC & FCC..

So they do keep calling, the cell phone.  I've got call control which sends the calls direct to voicemail.  I don't bother to call back anymore because I know it's not going to get them to stop calling even though I can prove that I did not get a loan from Money and More.  

Interesting fact is that not only is PR Associates trying to collect for an supposed outstanding debt for Money and More (again, I do have my records from that time period, no funds applied for or received from Money and More) but there is another agency, Samuel Sole and Associates trying to collect for the same debt.  I know that my information was sold or stolen and has recently be put through the automatic filing for more payday loans, on the old outdated information.  I have filed with FTC, BBB and FBI and follow the FDCPA, knowing that if I ask for debt validation, they by law have to provide it.  I also have put a flag on my credit information (fraud alert).  Also, my first red flag of any scam is the threats to serve me or put out a warrant for my arrest.  I know that the arrest is not valid in the US for an outstanding debt and that nobody forewarns you if they're going to sue you which has happened to me when I had an outstanding loan I forgot about while going through a divorce.  That loan has since been taken care of, so nothing outstanding in a collection process for pdl's.

As with everyone else, I urge people to file complaints and to report it on forums like this so that fewer and fewer people get caught in their web of lies.  It's a scary thing to be called and told that you're going to be served or arrested, or even called by someone claiming to be a lawyer or an officer of the law.  Most of those are threats and against the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act).  If people don't fall for it and pay a debt that isn't valid, then these people would go out of business because they can't collect any money.  Staying informed, knowing your rights so that you pay only valid debts helps to put the scammers out of business.

Someone just called looking fur an Audette Hubbard.  I've had other people call trying to collect from her as well.  The lady I talked to said she would remove my number from the call list, so we'll see...

I have been getting this call for a few months. it is a scam. do not give them any money. report the number to your fraud police department. they will get caught. if I pay day loan gave you any money, they will not take any less then they gave you. if they have your bank account information, like they had mine, change it. change banks. if anyone gets their physical address please give it to me.

Received a call from these people about a Pay Day Loan I apparently took out several years ago. The woman I spoke to was very nice, but could not give me the year the loan was taken out (she thought the debt was from 2008 meaning I wasn't 18 yet).  She told me she was calling to settle the debt before they filed a wage garnishment or a lien  against me before the statute of limitations was up.  I asked for her phone number so I could get back in touch with her about this supposed debt so I could dispute it.  I called the number provided, and it is no longer in service.  I also spoke to my attorney, the statute of limitations in my state is 4 years, meaning it has passed, so I am now ignoring them.
