- LynneReceived voicemail on my work phone from a Jarrod Ferguson stating that either myself or my husband need to call him back by 5pm E.S.T. at 1-888-300-0449 ext. 6968 regarding a reference # that he left on the voicemail as well. He did not give a company name or any other details.

- SharieI rec'd a vm this morning from a man stating, " I am calling from the office of Jared Ferguson. Please have your attorney contact me regarding your case number XXXX by the end of business day today. We have substantial about of paperwork that will be faxed to your employer if we do not hear from you today". The call came from a blocked number but he left his number and ext. 888-300-0449 x. 6968
- August121995We just received a call from this number that my 12-year-old son answered. Due to some sticky family situations on my husband's side, it appears that his father (a man who has been out of the picture for a very long time), and who also happens to share the same name as my husband's younger brother, has gotten himself into some financial issues. Needless to say, the history of this man is unknown to our child, so when the call was received he thought it was about his uncle, and ended up being very concerned, as the "Mr. Peterkin" on the phone was quite rude. Now, not only do we have to deal with these debt collectors harassing us about a man we haven't seen in I don't even know how many 10 years, but also figure out how to reassure our child that his uncle really isn't in trouble, without going into the story of who the person that "Mr. Peterkin" asked for really is. There's a reason the man was never introduced to our son, and now the reasoning behind that decision is coming out with these phone calls. I am not impressed.
- vory replies to worthI spoke with a Mr. Martinez at this company??? all that showed up on my phone for caller id was "954". I later got the 888-300-0449 from him as a call back number to make payment arrangements on a collection account.
It must be a collection agency beacuse the amount they asked for from me was drastically reduced from the original balance from my original creditor.
scored............80% discount - Enough AlreadyThis is United Collection Bureau, although they sometimes leave the message as "United Bureau" ... or even try passing themselves off as working for the original creditor.
Slimiest of the slimy, do NOT call them back. If they have any legitimate business with you, they will send a notice in writing (which they are required to do within five days of the first phone call.)
ALWAYS communicate in writing ONLY with people like this!!! - DDCalled saying this was a legal matter that I, my ex-wife or legal counsel should call to settle the matter and to call back to talk to Miss Jones @ ext 86983 befroe 5 pm EST. Said they could possibly represent me in this matter or resolving it. Showed up as 984 on caller ID. Read it right down like a script non-stop without a breath, very deliberate barrage and tone.

- Out of Control replies to Now it's my turnI have received this same message stating that I need to have my lawyer call before 9:00pm. Did any thing ever come of this Jared Ferguson?
- PattyO12/16/08 call on voice mail to someone named Jason Smith, asking for a call back today at x6989. I called back and told them there's no Jason Smith here, and that we've had this number for over 20 years. I demanded to know exactly who Jason Smith is, why he is using my phone number, and stated I wanted to know what address he was using. I told UCB that, in this day and age of identity theft, this was very disturbing to me. UCB asked for the "file number" that had been left on my voice mail. I furnished that file number. They promised that I would not receive any further calls. However, they never did furnish me the address this Jason Smith person had been using. We'll see what comes of this.

- allhealseveral calls from UCB... they were rude enough that I hung up once or twice. after the last call and before calling them back, I decided to do a websearch and I can see that UCB harrasses folks. I'm going to lodge an online complaint with BBB; and I suggest others do this.

- Poor Dumb Debt CollectorsI just got a call today from this number. I don't pick up my phone anyway for all the damn sales calls, so the guy, obvious made up name, left a message. He asked for somebody who has never lived here, saying that he had an offer that couldn't be refused. From the nature of the call, which sounded MUCH like those posted here, I knew automatically that it was some collector who apparently knew nothing about the person in question or where the person lives! Anybody stupid enough to buy bad debt during these times in hopes to scare people out of a little bit of money, that nobody has, deserves what's coming to them.... exactly NOTHING! Lol

- JaciJust got a message from them and called the number back. They were wanting to talk to someone I knew. I told them that he is not at this number and then asked how they got my number and they said that this is the contact number he listed. I started laughing and said that I know the person you are looking for and that he would never in a million years use this number as a contact number. I told them to take me off the list of his contact and she told me that since I knew who he was that she would keep calling until he returned the message. Seriously something wrong with these people. She did say that they got my name from a database and my name was associated with his. I find this pretty fishy because I just got this new number and have not even update a lot of my accounts with it. I think these people are a bunch of crooks!

- greenSPoke w/Ms. Kelly today and she asked for my attorney's information. First problem is assuming that I have an attorney or putting it out there like I should be afraid. UCB represents Chase (as far as I know because that's why I am being called. I spoke with someone to make arrangements before and he tried to bully me into making outrageous payments. Since then, I have been paying what I can. But I have still been receiving calls from 954 telling me to "call by 5pm" or have my attorney call. Ms. Kelly asked me for my HR department so that she could put in a "something kind of" order - she muffled her speech on purpose. Then, she stated "well, we'll just contact your employer." I do owe my debt and am currently taking care of it, but their practices have become outrageous. I was told that I could only make payments via debit/credit card, yet my money orders have been cashed. BOGUS.

- MINDYCAAsked if my boss was available and I asked what it was regarding the person referred to herself as "Miss Kelly" and stated that it regarded my boss's relative that she does not have and said UBC needed her to pass on a message. To call at her earliest convenience and listed 888-300-0449 and ext6049 when I called back to see how urgent it was "Miss Kelly" was the same person who answered phones. I don't like the way it sounded so I looked them up on line and found this blog. I don't know what the point of call was but they never said what their business was.

- CMFMiss Barnes just called and wanted to know about my next door neighbor. Funny thing was, I didn't live there anymore but recognized the neighbor's name. She made it sound like it was a very important emergency and she was unable to get ahold of my neighbor so Ms Barnes needed me to deliver a message to my neighbor. It sounded fishy and after getting the information, 888-300-0449 direct extension 86866 and reference number 80076158 I looked it up and found this site.
