Vivant Security rips people off !! I have told them not to charge any of my cards without my permission but they still keep doing it !! Isn't this against the law? I have told them repeatedly and they say I signed a paper saying I did this but luckily I kept my receipt n faxed it to them highlighting the spot where it says do not have my permission. This company steals from you regardless. I'm at the point where Im about to lawyer up !!! Vivant go to hell !

I had a missed call in my cell. phone log from this number.  I called back and got a recording saying that they (Vivint, my alarm monitoring company) had performed some necessary maintenance on their online account access system, and that they knew it had temporarily disturbed some customers ability to connect their mobile app to their account.  This was apparently a courtesy call to let customers know that they had a problem and that they fixed it.  I believe it was a legit call.

The shills floating through here every few months live in a monochrome world as usual for their species. The company in question appears to have a trap-and-shoot business model and a heavy streak of incompetence, not really unexpected. Long term contracts written to prevent easy customer exit tend to encourage a subsidized mediocrity if not terrible service. The income is assured whether the company performs or welches on its contract.

Seems the only clause this Vivint wants to enforce is the part which gets them paid. It also seems too many of its customers did not get the service quality they were promised. Security system providers frequently get caught failing to monitor and performing poor installations, counting on their customers not to notice or bother to fight. Ms. Courtemanche might have had a similar complaint, not discussed. She did discover how obnoxious certain industry players get when customers are dissatisfied or financially pinched.

I have a contract with dates that weren't showing when I signed my get a deal as we are new to the neighborhood along with a couple of my neighbors we were told 16mo. we have all tried to cancel and have turned them into the AG for our state. seems the happens a lot with them. My contract also has my and the sales persons signatures in the middle of it, thinking that is the document I signed for terms.  I do expect them to EAT the rest of THIER contract I fulfilled my part of it.

Received a call from 888-346-9202 at 7:51p.m.  I answered and a female said she had a call for this number (meaning my number, I suppose?) and I asked, what number are you calling but no reply!  I hung up since most all calls are made without operator assistance.  Then, I looked up the calling number and see that other people are being harassed by Vivint!  We have had Vivint services more then long enough to satisfy their contract which they managed to extend once and tried to extend a second time but I caught on to what they were doing and had the installer at the time of installation line-out and write-in specifics that the contract limits remained the same and that this last agreement was just a continuation of the prior agreement to the original contract end date of October 2, 2015.  I figured they would try to continue debuting my bank account so as soon as the last monthly payment was made, I had my bank put a block on our account for Vivint 55 services!  Now they must be trying to steal more money since they didn't get my account extended an additional year to 2016.  I discovered over a year ago that they had extended the contract to 2016 without my approval and they said they had it on recording and I told them I had the original agreement in writing with their approval through the installation technician and a letter from their billing department that shows it ends in Oct, 2015!  They tried to make me believe that was not the case, but after several days, I checked again with Vivint and they said that the contract expiration is October 2015!  These people are crooks and you really have to watch them and their fast talking scammer salespeople when it comes to contract agreements.  It's best to avoid anything out of Vivint & Provo, Utah!

I get regular calls on my cell phone from this number; the vm I get calling back is for someone named "Matt" who requests that I leave my name and file number.  He doesn't state his company, but from other comments here it appears to be a security firm.

I have never purchased a security system and had never heard of the company or its predecessor until now.  It looks like they're running out of customers to scam or harass and have moved on to the general population.  These folks are begging for a class action.

I think it's someone claiming to be Vivint, not actually Vivint.  I got a call from "Joyce Black" on Tuesday who said she was with Vivint and there was "an issue on my account that must be resolved", so I called Vivint to see if there was an issue and there wasn't.  "Joyce Black" called again on Thursday, left message again.  I contacted Vivint to ask if Joyce Black and the phone number 1-888-346-9202 are associated with Vivint and they could NOT find a record of her.  SCAM.

Thanks Carol for the last post. It made more sense than most others. I am a Vivint customer and they have there share of problems but overall they are ok. I got a call today and let it go to voicemail but they did not leave a message. This is typical for scammers.

Joyce Black is the Vivints automated call system. They called me to let me know I needed to update my credit card on file for billing. Legitimate call.

Got a call from this number.  Never leaves a message.  I cancelled vivint a few months ago, asked if I had any contract obligations which I did not.  Worked with the guy on the phone, sent the email.  Did everything needed to cancel. Blocked them from my credit card, they continue to try and charge me monthly.  What a crooked company.
