No stop cold calling people for money if you want to collect donations for your cause then send out friggin' mailers [***]

I received a solicited phone call from "Jennifer" (Jennifer Holden) at All American Sports, which is a subsidiary of All American Publishing today. She stated that she was calling on behalf of Cowan JH/SH in Muncie, IN and had permission from the athletic director, Mr. Patrick Bloom, to sell advertising for calendars that would be distributed to their school for free. I have been a part of helping stop similar companies and bad practices/scams in both Ohio and Illinois (both with correspondences from the attorney generals of each state, respectively), and naturally, the "red light" went off when I received the phone call.

The sales representative's job is to sell ad space on seasonal/yearly calendars (pending how the contract with the school is worked out), and then the school is provided with complimentary calendars (posters and/or pocket calendars, pending the contract with each school). Pending the number of responses from businesses that purchase ad space on the calendar and the total amount collected from businesses, then the school is to receive a portion of that money donated back to that school too. The sales representative (Jennifer) wasn't able to provide me information about the percentage or amount that would be directed back to the school following this campaign, and upon my further pressing and persistence of the issue, she directed me to her supervisor (Casey) and he wasn't able to provide that information either (he wasn't aware of the amount, I should state). He then trnasferred me to their business office where I spoke with Jeff. Jeff was very kind and explained the entire process to me, and I in turn told him of both my dealings with "legitimate businesses" in doing similar calendars for school sports as well as my involvement in contacting the attorney generals of other states in helping try to stop similar (what I call) scams. In those other scams, schools would never see their calendars, and advertisers would lose their money too, basically. With this particular school, Jeff was able to tell me that Cowan JH/SH "will receive a 13% rebate after all of the advertising businesses pay for their ad space and that the calendars were printed. This 13% number, though not large, was better than what I'd hear from other such sports calendar printing companies only giving back an estimated 1.5% to 2.5% back to the school (if at all). I explained to Jeff that in the future, it might be a good idea for the phone sales representative to have more access to information, such as the amount rebated to the schools, and Jeff understood my point if view. He said that there were reasons why the sales representative doesn't have all of that information, and part of that is because that amount differs with each school. Some schools receive a higher rebate amount; depending on the school (ie customer) and their repeat business history with All American Sports. Jeff did state that if I did have any further questions, to personally contact him thru customer service at 866-274-8755.

After that conversation, I did personally call the athletic director at Cowan JH/SH; Mr. Patrick Bloom. A very nice conversation, and Mr. Bloom was both appreciative and supportive of my call. And understandingly so. He too was familiar with other "scams" out there, and in fact, and been the victim of such type of scam before. He said that he did authorize All American Sports to solicit and print the calendars, and the 13% rebate figure that I mentioned was also what he was told by the representative from All American Sports when they initially set up his school's account.

I have not contacted Brenda Sims as in this case, Mr. Bloom feels that All American Sports calendars is doing a legitimate job for Cowan JH/SH.

As far as Reynolds Farm Equipment is concerned in paying for a sponsored ad? Well, we'll look at that as a team to make any "yea" or "nea" decisions. Yeah.. I just had a call from a Jackie or a Jessie there.. she was calling with one of our local high schools. First of all, she called my place of business. I picked up the phone and said the company name 3 times before she acknowledged the connection. You ask why I waited to say my name 3 times? I was amused by how much cussing she and her co-horts were doing when they thought no one was listening - and I was. Nice way to do customer service. Loved listening to your foul language while you were "waiting" for me to pick up the phone. I told her that we weren't interested and that next time, she might just want to pay attention to her work and watch her language if she expected to get anywhere. Then I promptly hung up. She sounded all of about 17. I could be wrong - but given the context of their conversation, I doubt it.

Both websites are the same! Be cautious about solicitors. Also, check the BBB for company information and ongoing scams. This company has an F rating due to customer complaints. That right there is a red flag. Whether or not this company is legit, really does not matter at this point. Would you want to do business with a company that is not customer service oriented?

Got a message from Belinda at 888-357-9911 ext. 3404. She said it was in reference to a children's project (I work for a children's organization). I didn't know any better, called back and got an answering machine, but I did find out it was All American Publishing to google and found this site!

Go to BBB and check all the fraud complaints against your company.

I just checked the BBB rating for All-American Publishing and found that they have an F rating.  Unfortunately I have already signed up with them.  I wish I had checked first. I was at the Football meeting last night for the team that I'm supposed to be supporting through All-American Publishing and the Football Booster President has never heard of them!  SCAM?  The meeting covered how we can support the team by purchasing advertising directly through the Boosters, not some F rated company in Idaho...  All I can say is they better make this right.

Received a call this morning, same thing as most of the posters here.  Asked which school he was calling on behalf of, and he gave the town name.  The local HS in this town doesn't use the town name in its title, so I told him we weren't interested, and to please remove us. We'll see if that actually happens.

I was highly suspicious when I received this call but after hearing "All American Sports Posters" I realized taht I had heard of the company before and was willing to listen to his "pitch" for funds.  

While in the middle of apologizing for being so suspicious and explaining that we receive a multitude of crazy calls a day, SHAUN (or Shawn x 3652) HUNG UP ON ME!

Guess what - you don't have a snowballs chance in Hades of getting a dime out of our company now.  What a way to try to drum up donations for Catalina High School in Tucson, AZ.

Received a call at 5:30PM on a Friday on the last weekend in June...obviously a call from another time zone.  This could very well be a legitimate business raising funds.  Or maybe it isn't.  My personal policy is that I NEVER, EVER donate funds for any cause via telemarketing.  For one thing, you don't know who is a scammer and who isn't. For another, telemarketers steal my precious time without conscience.   I have trained my children to never give money to ANYONE who solicits them via telephone or on the street.  I try to be polite, but telemarketers are intrusive and I have run out of patience with them.

I received the same call. I own a business and also work closely with the athletic department at the local school because my son plays basketball, football, baseball, and runs track. Our school A said he never heard of it before and we do our own fundraisers. The person that called me said his name was Glen Bailey. Besides, I don't give any financial info over the phone to someone that im not sure of and Im glad this time was not an exception.

No [***] you.. you guys are full of [***]. you ask for the name of the employee you talk to then claim they approved a sale.. Even after you were told NO , several times... I called the FBI and the FTC are you [***]. prepare to go out of business.

A+ rating and no I don't work for them but I would not give anyone money over the phone or sign up for anything.

When I went to school we, the students, would go door to door selling huge candy bars with a large profit margin to raise funds not mass marketers. Now these ass marketers (I mean mass marketers) are not all scams but 99 out of 100 cops will tell you they are.

I donate to my school every year - about $4400 and it's called socialism - no I think that's called REAL ESTATE TAXES. 75% goes to schools. As far as the BBB goes. They got caught selling A+ ratings. Just depends on how much money you give them.

Everyone wants money.   The call, email and snail mail  from  federal, state and local organizations including the  police and  high schools for which I have no children and pay for in taxes.   In general I am hounded by: . political hopefuls  incumbents, animal rights organization (I support),  cancer research, all , research organizations to name a few.   Mon Dieu, I'm barely employed and I'm supposed to donate to the underprivileged who typically have more than I do as I'm not considered poor enough; I'm self employed and  barely working/  I cannot sign a desirable and necessary petition on-line without being redirected to their associated "please donate" pages.  I am being harassed,  hounded by organizations whom I've supported, i currently support many, without them selling my personal information all over the globe. I get 100's of snail mail, emails, and unrecognizable phone calls all because I wanted to be part of  a  solution.  Ironically, they are not considered reportable to the Do NOT CALL LIST (which I believe is another way for the government  to  collect  our telephone numbers) because I gave one of the 100000000's of them money.
I'm learning a valuable lesson at age 59- don't help anyone: the only accomplishment seems to generate only more hands held out.  I'm a bleeding heart liberal but am beginning to understand a tiny amount of  my Ultra Right Repub. brother's frustration.  Scarily, only last night he reported that he's so sick of liberals like me that he's one step short of shaving his head .

Get off of your high horse. You don't get it. People do not want to be captives of their telephones. If you want me to donate to your charity then support the USPS and send it to me in the mail. That way I can peruse the material and investigate and send it at my leisure, NOT YOURS. And don't tell me that the USPS costs you money. So does the use of a 800 number.

Got a call from a young lady in Oklahoma claiming to be representing our local high school (she had the name) athletic department and was looking for sponsors for them . Even had the correct name of our athletic director. Called our athletic director and he said all fundraising is done locally via the boosters only. Always. He had no relationship with All American Sports Posters. I hate liars. If you're going to help out your local school do it in person and go to their fundraisers. Nothing but scamming strangers on the phone and internet!!!
