- S in IndianaSame message as above from a Sara Lopez. Reporting them to Attornry General's office 1-800-366-4484.
- BlueLiliSI've just got a similar call 2 hours ago. The recorded lady's name was different, but basically is the same thing, threatening with court and police action. I have heard that the IRS never calls but I still got slightly worried/angry. The number to call was fumbled, I thought it was 8883729574, but sure an "O" sounds similar to a 2 when the connection is bad. I checked both my IRS and state tax returns, and my state tax refund is being emitted with date of tomorrow. Such a coincidence! And those forms surely have my phone number...
Just a waste of half an hour of my time, but I see that people that called back got it worse. I also denounce it to the IRS TIGTA. You can use their web site instead of the phone number; its: http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml.
On the positive side, at least I got info about my state return, which I knew it was delayed and I did not care to check before as it is 2 digits-value. I still wonder if the state tax computers' data has being compromised.- Caller: n/a

- Another Victim replies to San FranciscoI just got the same voice message...exactly the same....word for word....So happy I read up on it and know not to call back!!!
- AnonymousI got the same call from a Sarah Logan with the IRS.The call did not even specify who they wanted to speak too. Happy I read all these post. I figured it was a scam. The IRS always notifies people by mail. Hope they catch who ever is doing it.

- Keyzer SozeThis number called my mother. Scared her and threatened her. Preying on the elderly. Scum.
At least my mother was smart enough not to give them information. She even called the number back after the first caller got cut off and the line hung up on her. [***]. When she called them back, they answered: "Hello?". Hahahahahahahaha. Yeah, you're "official". This kind of evil should be reported.

We must be vigilant and not let these bullies prey on our loved ones! - Senior from Marin, CAReceived a phone message. Called back and went through a hilarious but scary time. I agreed to "resolve" the issue and was instructed to withdraw $ from the bank, go to nearest Safeway, purchase a voucher and return home where two agents would meet me to get the voucher info, give me a receipt and court documents. Throughout I would be in contact by mobile to receive directions. Although advised not to contact or notify anyone of what I was doing I called the local sheriff. The scam guys called back as the officer arrived at my house. They demanded to know why I had not left yet for the bank since 1/2 hour had past since I said I would. The sheriff deputy picked up the phone and "resolved" the issue by calling them liars, scammers, etc. and advised them not to call back and bother me in the future. Officer agreed to visit me in jail should that occur.
