- JANEWHOS THIS?
- Call type: Debt collector
- RFNot only did this number call my parents house, where I haven't lived in like 5 or 6 years, but today, they called my cell phone. Saying her name is Renee Thomas and there is a claim 135748 against me. She does not say what office she is calling from only that I have one opportunity to contact the mediation firm...but once again does not say what firm. When I tried calling the number back that she gave me, the phone didn't even ring and the call was dropped.
- Caller: I don't know
- Call type: Debt collector
- RFMy brother even texted me tonight to let me know they called his house as well. I guess they are going thru the RFs trying to find me. I did call the number back and blocked my number and when the automated recording came up the guy said welcome to consolidated...not consolidated law firm, mediation, no clue as to what this place is. Then it went onto say if you know your parties extension enter it now or press 0 for the next available operator. I pressed 0 and it rang and rang then finally I got a recording saying the person at extension whatever is on the phone. I hung up.

Oh, please. There are no "charges" that one is going to call on, first. Websites like these really cut into the scamming dollars, don't they? If one is being "charged" the police come, without calling first. If it's regarding money, and that's usually what you scammers are after, the police aren't involved, and there are no "charges." It's a civil matter. At least TRY to scam people by appearing that you know the law in this country. - UnknownI just received a phone call from someone saying they wanted my address to serve me papers, and this was all said without even stating what it was all in regards to. When I asked her what she was talking about she said, "oh you don't know what I am talking about?" I simply said no, she gave me a claim number and a phone number to call and it was a number to The Mediation Firm. I called to find out what in the world they were talking about (very suspicious as I had already had my identity stolen once this year, not happening again!) and they guy I spoke to (Michael) told me I owed $700 and that I needed to make restitution now or it was going to court. I said No, you will need ot mail me information regarding this and he said I would need to speak to a manager. So, now I am speaking to Elindora (a guy) and I said the same thing to him... send me a bill or paperwork or I was going to just end the call. He said fine, see you in court and I said, I don't think so. These people are crazy!! If there was a "Federal" Offense done, your local Sheriffs department would serve you court papers. It amazes me that people like this think we are that stupid!

- Preemiemom08I had this number contact me as well and she has stated the same, "that they are not able to send out any documentation to me until they have received payment in full for the the amount of $213." Once they have received payment then she can send me a letter stating the amount was paid in full. When I told her that this did not sound legit to me she then stated that the decision was up to me to pay or not and she would have to go ahead and process the claim as her clients want her to. The lady name id Rose Perez and I have spoken with a gentleman by the name of Mr. Baker also. I have never heard of a company that can not send out documentation of what you have agreed upon over then phone and then they can not give to detailed information about the company. She just kept saying if they were a collection agence she could then send me out some paperwork verifying the conversation we had.
I would really like to know if this is a scam or not as well???? I 'm going to contact the Better Business Bureau.- Caller: Mediation Firm
