- SM| 1 replyI received a message to call 888-395-9444. I called and they told me someone had used my Visa card to make $77.34 purchases using my Amazon account. They wanted me to log on to my computer and give them access. When I refused, he said someone would continue using my card and tomorrow the purchases would be in the thousands. I logged into my Amazon account and it does not show any purchases. I think this is a scam. At least I hope it is. The person I talked to had a very heavy accent.
- JW| 1 replyI just received a call from a female telling me that a charge of $77.99 had been placed on my Amazon account and if I did not make that charge to contact 888-395-9444, so I called the #, got a man with an accent, could only voices with accents in the background. He also told me that a charge of $77.99 had been charged on my Amazon account for an iTune gift card and he wanted me to get in front of my computer in order to cancel the order. I was suspicious from the beginning so hung up and called Amazon customer service, there was no such charge made on my account. BEWARE. I will call my credit union next just to check

- BillGot the same call. I think the reason for the same amount, is that it is a recording.
- HeatherI had a robo call saying they were Amazon and I had a $77.99 pending charge and wanted me to call back. I did and had the BEST time. I fabricated a thick southern accent and let them think I was really on board. As they lead me to remote them in to my computer, I gently said some pretty vulgar things and had a fun time. It made me feel good.

- JVThis number had left a clear message, in a female voice informing me that a fraudulent charge MAY have been made for $77 to AMANON. If that wasn’t you, pls call 8883959444 to resolve problem. Called #, they (men with broken accent) asked for my credit card number, which I DID NOT give them, as I smelled a scam. Then they hung up on me. I immediately called the number on the back of my card to verify that no charges had been made, as well as report the scam!! Next, I’m going to contact Amazon to make them aware that their name is tied to a SCAM.

- MarkCalled twice to our cell phone. Number not recognized; not picked up. Artificial voice left this voicemail: “Regarding your today's purchase on Amazon com you have been charged $77.99 on your Visa card if you have made this purchase on Amazon com and recognized it then simply hang up and your order will be delivered to you if you have not made any such transactions then call __________ ____________________ on 888-395-9444 and cancel it right away again the number is 888-395-9444 thank you. The originating caller number is: 888-201-4777. Both numbers now blocked. Curious and a Question - if you called them back and connected with a person with a heavy accent, could you venture a guess as the (possible) country from which this scam is based?
