Received an email with my first name in it ! - Called the 888-420-9943 # and instead of a typical 20 min wait in the queue, within 30 seconds there was a 'English is my 2nd language' individual asking for my 1st & last name. - I hung up, called the number on the BACK OF MY CARD; 20 minutes later. A Cust. Srvc person explained that it was in fact a SCAM telephone number...

I got the same email but when I logged into my Capital One account the exact same phone number is listed at the top of my account telling me that I need to call to verify information. This phone number is 100% a legitimate number. And I’m sure the people that posted it’s a scam learns that 10 business days after because they would’ve close their account

You do not seem very sure of yourself and if you were actually given this number by Capitol One, why would you be here looking up the number, just to post that you "think" it is legit? If you were already on the phone with them, why would they give you a different number to call?

Nobody should simply trust a caller is going to be whom they claim to be when it comes to an unpublished Banking number! Always call back from a published number, either from the back of your card or their website.

I got an email from "Capital One 360" requesting I call in and verify information. I knew right off the bat it was a scam because the domain in the email was not capitalone.com and had none of their identifiers. I also went straight to the website and it's a different number. NEVER EVER call the number listed on the email. Go to the website and call the number listed there to be safe.

I received an alert from one of my credit monitoring sites indicating an inquiry for opening a new account.  the company was capital one 360 and this was the phone nbr listed as contact.  my credit monitor site said that IS a valid nbr for capital one 360.  they will monitor my credit for 3 months with capital one.

The "post pending moderator approval" tags indicate that Shills for the scammers posting here  trying to convince people the calls are legit. This looks like a Phishing Scam and the info that they collect can be used for Identity Theft.

Do not confirm or supply info the callers ask for until you have called Cap One using the number on the back of your card.
