this number 888-438-0878 calls and leaves messages about a court summons to appear in court does anyone know this?

A phone call from this number resulted in Karen Burt's incompetence revealing social security numbers to

I just received one to. I talked to them directly. They said something about a summons to appear in court but didnt know who, what, where or why...said to call this number. It seems to me that if one were being summoned that they would have to be served papers.

I was called by an blocked number to tell me that I was being summoned to court. I was given this number in question so I called. Some one came on and asked how I wanted to be directed. I was told to ask for a "Gary". She transferred me to their "legal dept" I was on hold so long that I hung up. In order to be legally summoned to court, one must be served papers. I believe this to be a scam.

I received one at my office, from the main switchboard, voicemail message said to call this number, left a Case number and wanted to know what the 'company' policy was to serve someone papers for court.
I didn't think they did this and thought they would just show up

I used to work in law enforcement and I have never heard of any one calling to see if it was ok to serve papers. I have also witnessed employees being surprised at work with being served papers.
I called them just now. They are claiming to be Klien and Associates. They transferred me to the legal dept in which gave me a recording that wanted me to give them my contact info. I hung up. Im writing this off as a scam.

I am going to write this off as a scam as well but if you do not mind me asking, what part of the country do you live in if you dont mind me asking?
Its a little weird that a few of us in the past 24 hours are getting these phone calls.

You may have to block their number through your provider. Here is a number to call to be added to the national do not call list 888-382-1222.

It is the National DO NOT CALL list It will only take a minute of your time.. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.

I recieved a call saying papers were going to be served and was told to call this number 1-888-438-0878.
and to personally talk to a Judge Dixon.  I didn't call the number instead I went on line and checked the number out. IS THIS A SCAM???????? I'm in Florida.

I also got a message telling me to call this same number.  I did and I talked to someone who told me that I owed her client 1300 and then told me my social security number.  They also had my bank account number and said they were going to either take the money or take me to court.  I am stopping any payments going out on my card and I hope its a scam!

A Mr. Dixon called my job from this number.  He called several times and demanded to speak to my supervisor.  My coworkers would not transfer him to my supervisor, they took a message instead.  He left a case number, his name, and the call back number.  I thought this was a strange call because I've never received any calls from this number before today.  Plus, I've been served a summons a few years ago for wage garnishment; and neither the law office nor the debtor called to threaten to take me to court.  As someone else mentioned before, they just showed up at my residence and delivered the summons.  This definitely sounds strange.  I just called from my cell phone (I already blocked the number from calling back through my provider), there was no answer, but there was a voice message stating they were Kline(sp???) and Associates.

By the way, I'm in Illinois.  After reading the latest entries, I think I will try to call them back tomorrow just to see what personal information of mine they have.
