I just wanted to add some more info.  I've been trying to look up information on this number and couldn't find anything.  However, when I did a Google search for:  Klein Associates, summons, called job.  I found more info on 800notes.com, but under a different number.  I think these are the same people, here is the link I found:

    https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-888-846-3275

I hope this helps.  I'm still going to do more digging in the mean time to see if I can find additional info on this company.

They too called me but a month ago and stupid me didn't think about searching the phone# but i made the mistake of making payment plans and already gave them one payment. Till now i thought and thought & i should have really questioned it before. So i block my card so they couldn't take out the next payment that was due. They of course already called me and left a message on my cell ph#. And i really don't want them to be contacting my place of work. Any suggestions on what i should do? Oh by the way it was too a Ryan Lewis that called and i've been dealing with

The internet is a wonderful thing...I received a call from this number on march 10th and it freaked me out. I have never been in trouble with the law but I was worried once I heard "court date".... they left a case number on my voicemail and said to call gary stevenson, they also mentioned something missing the court appearance...idk but it feels better know others received this call and this is probably a scam

If you can get an address for them you could send a certified letter, return receipt, stating your choice of the following: (1) Your employer does not permit these types of calls and they are to stop calling you at work, or (2) A "drop dead" letter, stating you will handle the matter with the original holder of the debt.

Please do your research before doing either.  Read about the FDCPA on the FTC.gov web site.  You can also find the appropriate language for the letter by searching the Internet for FDCPA drop dead letter.  Look at more than one example, some are better written than others.

Also, if this is a scofflaw operation, they may ignore your letter.  If they do, find an attorney who practices in the area of consumer law - you may have a nice check coming your way ;) .

I received an incoming phone call at home on April 5, 2011 at 2:12 pm which displayed private caller I.D. on my phone caller screen. A male voice caller whom would not identify himself upon my asking informed me that I was being taken to court over a Sprint account debt owed And that two summons had been served at my physical living address in which he said that both attempts had failed. He also informed me of my actual physical living address. The male caller told me to call phone number 888-438-0878 to speak with another representative in reference to case number given. When I called this phone number given by the male representative, a female voice answered and spoke at a fast pace tone in which it was hard to make out what she had said. She then transferred me to another female. I spoke with a female Representative whom identified herself as being Melissa Levy whom stated that she worked for Kleine & Associates Law group out of California. She also spoke at a fast pace and informed me that I owed a balance of $1,242 for a Sprint Account debt and they were in process of taking me to court. I only found her name out by me asking for it after I was told that they would be taking me to court over this Sprint account debt. As I attempted to seek additional information as to credentials of this law firm claim, female named Melissa Levy became uncooperative and would not answer any detailed questions in reference to this matter.

Huge scam.  Legal matters are served via paper copy, not anonymous calls at random.

24 Mar 2011This place is a big joke. It's funny how they change their numbers left and right but they are all answered by the same bunch of simpletons.Who oddly enough fail to change their names as often as their number.I have talked to several people who claim to be an attorney, a Mr Rosen and Mr Anderson both are the same guy.He reosrts to insults adn name calling whn challenged with simple questions about my supposed law suit. This funny scheme has entertained me for 6 months. But now that i have several different numbers and names and variations of the threats recorded i have hired an attorney and he says a law suit should take care of my outstanding credit card debt. This delights me.
    Several of the numbers used over the course of 2 dozen calls have been;

This is a ring of scammers that attempt to harass you until you pay them not to. DON'T PAY THEM A DIME AND DON'T GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!!!  Continue to report the callers to the Federal Trade Commission, your local law enforcement and even your local FBI office. Also, if you can temporarily forward to a mobile phone...TrapCall works like a charm to find out the real number and often the location of the caller. It does cost a few dollars for the service, but if you are receiving repeated, harassing calls it's probably worth the small investment. Once you find out their real contact information provide it to your local law enforcement immediately (and to the FTC). Another option is for Comcast users: dial *57 after each harassment call; then call your local law enforcement agency. Comcast can trace the call and work with law enforcement to prosecute. Also most cell phone providers have a way of tracing/tracking harassing calls as well. Be sure to contact your provider.

Finally, keep in mind that if you use any call tracking service and actually find the true location and/or name of those harassing you, do not take steps yourself to harass them or threaten them in return. Unfair as it is, you can put yourself in potential trouble with the law by doing so; don't give those idiots the satisfaction!

    An actual lawyer
My father just received one of these calls.

Folks, just an FYI.  They are idiots.  You cannot get a "failure to appear" for failing to respond to their efforts to serve you a summons/complaint.  If service of process can't get effectuated by hand delivery, most--if not all--states provide for some mechanism whereby mail or some other alternative process will be deemed legal "service."  Only at that point will a court even have personal jurisdiction over you to do anything if you don't respond.  And it will not be a "failure to appear," but a default judgment. My point is simply that they are trying to scare you with dumb threats that have zero basis in actual civil procedure.  In fact, many counties in many states require legal service to be effectuated by the Sheriff's Department, further debunking the purported "efforts" of a "process server" to reach you in order to serve a "summons."

This is amazing. I too, got a call from this company at my place of business. They asked about the procedure for a "process server serving an employee". As I'm self-employed and the only employee, I said told them to just come in with it. They told me they were going to send the process server the next day.

When I asked who was suing me, the caller said she didn't know and gave me a number to call. I called it and the person who answered rattled off the name of some company I never heard of and said I owed them $15K. I told this person to send all the paperwork to my attorney. Interestingly, she said OK, but almost hung up before I gave her my attorney's name and address. I had to remind her to take it.

This was about 3 weeks ago and I have heard nothing from my attorney regarding any paperwork being sent or any process being served.

Yeah, it sounds like a scam.
