Same as everyone else. Legal action, must respond, blah blah blah...about the 5th time I have received this same call

Continued calls threatening action to someone else.

This call is to notify XXX  (used a previous married name, that I haven't been associated with in 23 years!!!) that this is our last attempt to serve you a notice of action pertaining to an investigation being finalized against you. For further details on this case against you, or to change the service status, call us back at 888-448-0829 that phone number again is 888-448-0829. Failure to contact them today will result in further legal action against you…”

This is like the 3rd call threatening all final actions against me. No idea who they are, what the action is for, etc.

I received a call from this number today.  No company name telling me that this is the final notice regarding an investigation against me. failure to reply would result in legal action

Claims last call before they take legal action. Funny it was my first call and I don’t owe any money that I am past due on.

I got the same message they used my maiden name witch had been changed for the last 16 years.

My husband received a voice message from this number stating "We are attempting to reach ********.  This is a final attempt to assist you in resolving a matter in our office before we approve the status of filing the claim against you out of ***** County.  To avoid the order against your assets, please contact our office immediately at 888-448-0829."  It's a bit bothersome that they know my husband's cell phone number and what county I reside in.

Same message here as everyone else  whats funny is my cell phone rang once and went to voice mail before i could answer.  they left the message and actually had my name and county i live in.  Saw this post and blocked the number,

Same as everyone mentioned previously. They know the county I live in and said they will seize my assets if I don’t respond. They want the last 4 of my social security number which I refuse to give and then they just threaten you. It’s def a scam

When I called the number back, they wanted me to enter the last four of my social. The rep identified the company as Mariner Collections for HSBC Bank (claimed I had an active account with them that I hadn't responded to calls for). I told them I never had an account with that bank and reported them to HSBC.

They have called me and my Wife multiple times. They have even tried to call my family members and act as a processing company who is trying to "serve me " with a debt from 2008. When we asked them to send us the paperwork and sue us they get rude and make comments about how they're going to put a lien on our property. Every time they call and we call back it's a different law firm name.

Well, if you happen to live in Maine and a real debt from 2008 was in the form of a Promissory Note, then you could be sued for another 3 years to try to collect on it.  The Statute of Limitations on that type of debt in Maine is 20 years, but for any other type of debt in Maine and any debts in the other States, the Statute of Limitations has long expired for a debt from 2008 and you cannot be sued for it.  A real debt can still be pursued for payment, but the courts cannot be used to force you to pay.

However, the debt they are talking about is simply in the imagination of their warped criminal minds.
The whole thing is a scam.
Block any number they call from, do not call back and let any family members they have or might call that it is all an attempt to scam you out of money that is rightfully yours.

What is the statute of limitations on debt?

Same BS script as above. The number that they called from (866 609 4824) is not the same number that they listed to call back (888 488 0829).

I got the same message today. They knew my name and county.

Exactly the same.... threatening legal action but neglected to leave who they were or what the matter was regarding.  I do not respond to threats so.....deleted the message and moved on with my day.
