- ADR replies to CI have received many calls from 888-458-4072. They are always asking for personal information to be divulged and refusing to not call back when asked politely.
They call at all hours of the day and late evening (sometimes more than 4 times in one day). I am on the National Do Not Call Registry (www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca). A complaint has been filed with the CRTC, the RCMP and a file has been opened with the local police as well. - celMaudit fatiguant, j'ai un stop pour les numérons inconnus, ils doivent se nommer. Là , ils m'énervent.
Bloquer celui-ci - TheyAre NOTactuallyRBC!Have been called every day by this number. Called back and their voicemail says that they are affiliated with RBC. Called RBC, and apparently they have no idea who this number is... Definitely a scam of some sort.
- Nathalieje reçois cet appel au moins 4-5 fois par jour depuis que je suis avec RBC. Je ne sais pas comment m'en débarasser :-(
- spJust received it too (1800420-4782)
answering machine talking to me asking me to press any key to speak to someone... - alex| 1 reply1- the do not call list only applies to businesses you have no link to.
2- This is a third party hired by RBC to sell insurance. (my gf worked there for 2 years, rbc not the third party :))
3- simply say you are not interested in any insurance products, and ask for this number to be removed from their lists. IF YOU ARE MEAN, THEY WONT DO IT!!!!! remember people, another guy or girl is doing their 9 to 5 on the other end and they will be much less likely to help if you scream at them!
By law, if you ask the merchant to remove you from calling lists, a merchant you have a direct or indirect business relation with, they are obliged to comply if they hold their own lists. The "do not call" list handles the telemarketers you have no business relations with, but the merchants you have to manually remove the numbers from should also provide you with a delay during which your number will still be active in their systems.

- Simon replies to alexThanks for taking the time to explain to people that they have indeed the right to call at home.
The thing they don't realize is that they have ties to the "hiring" Company (in this case RBC).

- MiguelI received a call from this number i did not answer after have read the above posts. I am with rbc
- M.I'm with RBC too.
It might be really a call about insurance that RBC is selling. Sometimes, the bank hire third party to speak about the insurance that they can receive with their services.
I dont know if its that kind of call, but if you want to be sure you can call directly RBC, they are suppose to have the information.
Again, it is not all the employees from RBC who have the information. Some of them just dont care of their job, so they dont verify.
No need for paranoia with that kind of case.
It might be some people that just want to take over your informations, but it can also be simply a RBC annoying third party.
Just dont give any personnal informations, and if you are interested if the product they are offering, hung up and call directly your bank to have it. It's the safest way to protect your personnal informations.
Once you give any card number, it's becoming an agreement between you and the person, even if you didnt know that they will use your card number in a non knowable way. The bank will not be able to assist you as a fraud case if you give your personnal info and card number, you will have to get by the chargeback process.- Caller: 18884584072
- Law suit is on !!RBC surely failed in the customers' privacy; and it is just a matter of time it will be sued and exposed to the public media. I sent an internal official complaint, and the span stopped for just 1 week, then re-started all over again. It is a never-ending most-disguested story! The only way is to switch to another bank and request to opt out of from any promotional call. I am sending complaints to the Canadian Council of Better Business Bureaus, and the CRTC for spam and harrassment. RCMP should be informed, or at least inquire the parliament members for an act for this.
