8884723363 is calling and they say they call from Prudential potentia
is a life insurance company

Left recorded message saying they are PFS calling about a claim they are holding in there office. Then message continued saying they are attempting to collect a debt. Did call and request that they send correspondence in the mail. They insisted on having a payment set up over the phone. Told them I wanted additional info about their company and I do not just hand out bank info to just anyone. The conversation just went in circles. Wondering if anyone knows anything about this company.

I spoke to a rude woman named Courtney, who gave me this number.  She claimed I had a payday loan, I have never had one. She would not give me a location of the company.  I asked to be removed from their call list since the person they are looking for is not me.  That happened last week, today I again received a restricted call from this company.  Miss Howard was all I could understand, this woman talked like she was extremely uneducated. Every time I tried to speak she would talk/yell so fast I could not understand her. Please advise how to stop these people from calling me.

consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.
