I called the number back and it's Fingerhut calling to remind you of either a payment that is coming due or a purchase that was made.

initial message states "important". When I called back, after recording repeatedly stating how important I was and that I'd be helped "momentarily," 5 minutes of music and a rude, slimy guy starts asking me for personal info. I refused to provide until he identified the purpose of the call. He would not, saying until I provided (personal) info, he would not reveal purpose. Clearly a scam, phising, solicitor.

A recorded message asking for a Marcia Miller from Citi Client First Account.  Never heard of them and never heard of her.  Told them to remove the number from their call data base.  They say they will.  It goes quiet for a few weeks, then starts all over again.

OK, got off the phone with CITI..... the REAL one, not these fakes.

They did in fact confirm my suspicion that the people calling me are COMPLETE FRAUDS!

CITI CLIENT FIRST IS NOT AFFILIATED WITH CITIBANK, CITICARDS, CITI FINANCIAL or any other legitimate CITI institution.

If they call, tell them they can kiss your a**

If you get calls from this number, call CitiBank Fraud department immediately! Let them know these jokers are using the trademarked Citi name but won't identify who they really are or whom they are trying to contact and want you to give personal information.

CitiBank WILL make them stop immediately, this is the ONLY way to stop the calls. I did it and now they have not called for weeks. I think I got them in trouble, HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

The a**holes who call you are: CLIENT SERVICES INC. Here is their website:

The Caller ID said Client Inc. After waiting on line this guy claimed that he was from Citi Bank. and I was late on a payment.  Wanted to know my banking info.  I inquired what he had on me and I would verify it. He said he could not do that. HE then said I had a late payment and he was collecting. Would NOT tell me who the ORIGINAL company was that owned the debt! I hung up.

I've gotten a few calls, first time I ignored the call and called them back from my work phone. They were claiming that they were Citibank and they asked me for my account number (are people really stupid enough to give out their account info) I hung up on them and called Citibank directly asking if they called. They did not call and did not seem to care that someone was calling their customers. This number called me again and when I confronted them and told them not to call anymore, they hung up. Long story short. THIS IS A SCAM don't give these losers any info

Just got off the phone -- asked for my account information for my husband's account.  I said that we already spoke with CitiBank and they have not records of ever calling us.

We recently got a card from them, but never use it (emergency card).  Couldn't possibly be late on a payment with a zero balance and having just received it this month.

The lady was incredibly rude and then wanted my info so she could mark down that I was confirming who me and my husband was to stop the calls.  Riiiight.  I told her that we'll call Citibank directly to confirm their records and do not give personal information over the phone to someone calling us randomly claiming to be Citibank.  She said, "We ARE Citibank and we need to confirm your identity."  Stupid.

She then gave us the number 866-680-8628 to call back instead.

a machine saying they were citi client first looking for my husband. pushed # to take message and was told a different # to call back. not calling # definitely has to be a scam. caller id said toll free number instead of a name. a real financial institution isn't going to send a pre recorded message looking for someone.

I received several calls from this number.  On about the 4-5th time, they left a vm to call them back about a payment.  Also, they gave a website to visit.  I went to the site but the certificates were not accurate so my computer blocked it.  I did not call the number but instead looked online to see what others were saying about the site.  Also, I checked both of my citi cards on the actual website and there were no messages or alerts so I too believe this is a scam.

Simply put, when in doubt call the credit card / bank that you think the call is coming from.

Personally, I had never heard of "Citi (or City) Client First" so I was suspicious, but after calling Citi directly using the number on the back of my credit card I was able to resolve the issue and get them to NEVER call me again using that creepy automated messaging.

You really can't be too cautious now-a-days.
