888-479-5527

Appeared on CC bill, appears to be a web hosting service, which I did not use, false charge to CC.  BEWARE!!

OK, I think I got this figured (my theory, nothing to back it up...yet).  This 888 number is part of a credit card scam.  They are randomingly billing CC numbers.  If you call them and provide the last 6 digits as they request on the phone message, they'll know they hit a valid number and you will be SCREWED!! They will charge the hell out of your account and max it out.  BEWARE this charge, dispute it thru the credit card company, not this 888 number listed on your CC bill.

Appeared on my bank statement. Fraudulent charge that I did not make. Had to close the account and file a dispute.

Never got a call.  I saw the charge on my debit card account and called my bank.  Advised I didn't know the charge and to please cancel my card.  Card was cancelled.  They gave me the 8884795527 number. Option one is "If you don't know a charge on your card please enter the last six digits of your card number" You do that and it verifies that it did charge you and that is all.  Option 2 is customer service after waiting five minutes you are sent to voicemail. Option 3 is voicemail.  I advise you to just cancel your card.

Just had a debit amt charged to account in the amt of $24.99. Bank says it's a post coming from Washington. Cancelled card. Money will be replaced by bank, with fraud protection.   I never rec a phone call.

Thanks for the info..I cancelled my CC as soon ,as I saw this posted, it was also a so called "hosting service " Did you have a previous charge perhaps a month or two earlier,for the exact same amount? I had a charge of $19.99 from a company called "Hayneedle" which is coincidently the exact same amount for the Hosting amount of $19.99 Thanks ,everyone should cancel their cards Immed....!!

Got this today, will be calling bank in the morning.

I didn't get a phone call from this number, It showed up on my debit card statement. I noticed it on 2/22/10 as a 'pending transaction'. All of my debits are cut and dry, (none with temporary holds).

(says it's something to do with 'computers'???????)

I had my card blocked 2/23/10 in the evening and now on 2/24/10 it has been posted to my account with the 2/23/10 date. Now it says,

HOSTING PAYMENT 888-479-5527 WAUS with card********XXXX  $24.99
(says it's a 'merchant'??????).

I'm filing a dispute as we speak!

Canceled my card today.

They used a $1.00 authorization charge first.

I received my cc statement and called my cc about the charge from  Hosting Payment for $19.99.  The credit card company told me to call 888-479-5527.  I did and found it odd that the first option was to cancle my order.  I did enter the last 6 digits of my cc # but did not feel right about it. They said my account would be credited in 5 to 7 business days. I could not find any info regarding this phone number on reverese look up so I Googled the number, found these postings and cancled my creidt card.  Thanks for having this information available.  It most likely have saved me some grief and money !!

Fraud Charge Beware!
Could be relatively new since first complaint posted in 02/2010 (on this website).  My wife and I watch our statements like hawks since we worked as Fraud Analysts at a major credit card company in the past.  We called our credit card company and shut down the cards immediately.  Carol's interaction with the phone # (above) is typical.  We also called the # but did not go any further by providing any account information.  Be careful, sometimes by providing your account information over the phone after the fact, some credit card companies could consider that as YOU giving consent for these type of charges.  It complicates things with your credit card company and could lengthen the process for getting your credit back from your credit card company.  Best thing to do is report as Fraud and let the bank and it's resources deal with it.

Just got the HOSTING SERVICES with NO phone number on the "current charges' listed on my card's website.  A day later, my card was put on hold.  I called my CC company and got the fraud department, who had applied the hold so they could ask me about THAT CHARGE.  I didn't recognize it, so they gave me the associated phone number to investigate.  I did.  The automated system gave no company name, just the two options other posters mentioned.  Option 1 -- if you see a charge you do not recognize -- give us your last six digits to look it up.  I hung up and called back, this time trying option #2 - speak to a representative.  Got informed all operators were busy, and to hang on.  Five minutes later I was routed to voice mail.  I called my cc company, informed them of this and closed the account.

Why is this jackhole not in jail yet?  That web hosting service is registered to this idjit.  Anyone want to pay him a visit?

Just got this on my card right after buying an airline ticket over the phone.  Not happy.  CC company tried to call stating it was a computer networking service and this is usually the description given when someone is enrolled in a trial or online membership.  I told her I hadn't done any such thing and then she tried a contact number she had and came back saying that when she chose to speak to a representative, she was hung up on.  Cancelled card and disputed charges. Thanks so much for this site and posting scams!!!

Just saw a pending charge to Hosting Payment for $1.00  Called the bank and was given the number 888-479-5527.  Found the following website associated with the number:

I called the number and got the same message described above.  About to leave on an overseas trip so the bank and I will monitor, as I don't have time to cancel the card and get one reissued before I leave tomorrow.  GREAT TIMING!!!!!

Just got charged $1 then $14.99 same BS. Has anyone contacted the FBI Freud unit?
