I received a call in late September from a local area code and city many miles from where I live.  I didn't answer the call and they left a VM. "Hi, this is Sophia. I'm calling with the process service office. This call is to notify a **** we are making two attempts to dispatch legal documents to your residence today. After two failed attempts we will serve you at your place of employment. To  make any changes you will need to contact the legal department here immediately. That number is 888-485-0354 and reference case number 2021-48209". You've been notified".

Today, I received a call from my sister concerned because she received a call about me from these same people.  I told her it was a scam and not to worry about it!

Whatever you do.... DO NOT give these people any identifying information!!!  If this was a legit company, they already have your info!  Further..... DO NOT give then any type payment!!!  THIS IS A SCAM!!!

I just received call from this same guy but from BLG legal group, which is not a real company, I researched it. Different phone number than yours. He was very rude and when I began to fight back he just hung up. So definitely a scam!

Looks like these scammers have been around for sometime. They will tell you about court papers and other threatening items.  As soon as you receive a call from these people like Steven Vargas, Allen Shore, Theresa Bogusmil, Judith Alvarez or other phantom names they go by at the fake Brentford Legal Group (in LA) LOL, please report the federal trade commission https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/

i just got a similar phone call earlier today, its a scam.  it seems as if they are using stolen credit reports possibly from equifax when it was breached and using that data in those reports to make it sound legit.  i thought it was at first because all the data mentioned on the phone was true, but its data thats over 10 years old.  i had him send a settlement offer to play along, everything in the company letter is fake, from company that doesn't exsist, to a address with the wrong zip code, and a phone number that isn't registered.  i checked with the BBB website and there is no record found for that company.  i sent the email with the attachement to the FBI.  they'll trace the IP.

He actually mailed you this "company letter"?! What's the business name & address that was on the letter? Was it different that the return address on the envelope?

If you notice the next to last sentence you will see that "Sam" received an email not snail mail.
