Retail businesses like a travel agent willing give out their contact info because they are soliciting business with individuals, and individuals need the data to check up on the retail business before doing business. Any business that refuses to release their contact info but demand money up front from people is likely a SCAMMER who wants to steal people's money.

Rene may be a scammer shill  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shill  whose job on 800notes is to post fake I-had-a-fabulous-vacation stories to lure unsuspecting victims like you.  I strongly suggest you stay the hell away from this offer.  Haven't you read the other posts?

Instead of asking, why don't you *READ* through the whole thread for posts that report they were SCAMMED because they tried to cancel and they could not because the number went bad on them (could no longer contact the company that sold them the vacation)?
I am curious as well. Are you a shill intent on proving complaining posts never tried to redeem their vacations?

Scam on cruise to the Bahamas - VIP Wholesale Group withdrew funds for trip and assigned a customer number. Once the funds cleared;the entire attitude of the company changed. Our package did not come in the time frame stated, so we called 888 400-3957 and 888 400-3957. We were informed by *Mike Gonzalez* that someone in the office dropped the ball, we were given a US Postal tracking#-when we contacted the US Postal 800-275-8777 and 800-275-8777 the tracking# did not exist. We eventually received our package after contacting this "company" postmarked with address of 5380 W. 34th #164, Houston, TX 77092. In order to book the trip, there were activation fees of $70 per traveler. Sent a money order in the amount of $700 to VIP Wholesale 448 W. 19th St. Ste. 258, Houston,TX 77008. Afterwards, no vouchers or travel package were sent. After calling this "company", our phone calls were placed on hold, when we requested a physical address transferred to the Legal Department where no one ever picked up. The names of people we've been in contact with through this entire ordeal are:Charles Davidson, Mike Gonzalez, Christopher Jackson, [Robert Thornton - who claims to be the GM and Ed Roberts [sometimes they say Ed is the GM] The various company names are: VIP Wholesale, ASAP Travel, American Travel, Worldwide Services, Fun in the Sun and Celebrity Production in Florida. The phone #'s used:877-239-1695
They are now operating as Romex Travel out of Atlanta, GA which the address is at a Law Office.

Wow. I JUST called the number on a fax my husband got at work. We are pricing trips to Orlando, so we called (knowing it was too good to be real). They answer the phone "reservations"...I tell them I got a fax, they coonect me with "Brian" in "sales".  Brian tells me they are Romex Travel, that they are a coorporate travel agency, and they are selling all the unused packages. I ask him flat out..."Is this a scam? What happens after I give you a credit card number, and the trip never arrives?"  and he says "We don't accept credit cards...bank info only...ACH check-by-phone."  I say "Well thats even worse! So then you have my account info? What if the trip never arrives?" He says "We can't scam you...we actually record your voice telling us that you OK the withdrawal."  And I said "Right...so that YOU are protected...but again...what if the trip never arrives, yet you have my money?"  And he told me to look online, do some research on the company, then call him back.  LOL....dude, seriously?

    ???
Yep this on is a scam but the are some good ones I went on before for cheap (also through illegal faxes). One was for 6 nights 7 days to cancun mexico in sandos caracol hotel. It was 150 dollars per person. We had to pay extra 300 dollars for peak season per room (3 people in room) and 100 per person to the resort (but they always charge that at the hotel/resort.) the tickets cost as 300 per person to fly their. So the total all inclusive price was 650 per person for everything. It was a 5 star resort. But the reason it was cheap was because it was a mandatory visit to see time shares. but of course you didnt have to buy but some people are easily fooled like the ones who fall for this scam.

You are right.  I almost took a chance with this one.  A few years ago, I purchased a package from one of these faxes and got a nice 3/2 Cruise to the Bahamas, 3/2 night in Weston Resort in Miami, 3/2 night in Cocoa Beach, and 4/3 night in Orlando but I had to pay my airfare to get to Florida and had to take the 90 minutes tours of the resorts AND they took the payment by my credit card and not a EFT check like these ones wants.  I think it was a good deal because I paid $199 for the entire package and the port charges for the cruise per person was $49  which was great.  BUT, I think Romex travel is doing something illigal by wanting your bank account number to purchase.  I will be notifying the Attorney General's office and the BBB on this one.

    Devastated replies to Almost purchased

This is devastating! We too received a fax 7/12/11 advertising exceptional travel savings. 8 days/7 nights Luxury Hawaiian Condo Resort (companion fare) for $199.98per person airfare included.  American Travel was the company we were in contact with initially to take advantage of the Hawaii offer for our family of 10 during Christmas vacation.  We were told that they could make our travel arrangements for Dec. 26, 2011 - Dec. 31, 2011.  Our representative was Charles Davidson.  We asked how could a trip like this be so inexpensive, his reply was that these packages are the leftover packages that Fortune 500 companies purchased for their employees.  When these companies don't use them, they usea travel service to sale to the general public.  This is how these types of vacations were so affordable.  They would not except a credit card so on Nov. 3, 2011 $2000.00 for 10 travellers was electronically withdrawn from our account to Worldwide Services on Nov. 3, 2011 with a customer number being assigned to us.  Once the funds cleared the entire attitude of the company changed. Our package did not come in the time stated, so we called.  We were informed by a Mike Gonzalez that someone in the office dropped the ball, we were given a US Postal tracking # and when we called the the US Postal 800-275-8777 customer service the tracking # did not exist.  We eventually received our package on Nov. 21, 2011 postmarked with the address 5380 W. 34th #164, Houston, TX 77092.  In order to book the trip, we had to activate with a fee of $70 per traveller.  So a money order in the amount of $700 was mailed to VIP Wholesale 448 W. 19th St. Ste. 258, Houston, TX 77008.  Through numerous email correspondence and phone calls, we were finally given a Condo to consider via email with a prive tag of $7000.  We began to question the fee for the Condo. We knew about the nightly resort tax, which was not to exceed $40-50 nightly.  Once our questions began, our phone calls were placed on hold, when we requested aphysical address we were told we were be transferred to the Legal Department where no one ever picked up.  The names of people we've been in contact with through this entire ordeal are:  Charles Davidson, Mike Gonzalez, Christopher Jackson, Robert Thornton - who claims to be the GM and Ed Roberts sometimes they say Ed is the GM.  The various company names are:  VIP Wholesale, ASAP Travel, American Travel, Worldwide Services, Fun In the Sun and Celebrity Production in Florida.  The phone #'s used: 877-239-1695, 888-400-3957 ext. 102 and 200.  Website used:  newworldwideservices.com.  Two P.O.Boxes connected to Worldwide Services, LLC are 542016 and 38618 Houston, TX. Connected to it in Austin, TX is P.O. Box 49673.  A physical address possibly connected is 807 Brazos, Austin TX 78701.  We've had to explain to our children, no Hawaii during Christmas break. We too, thought we asked all the right questions, now we have reported to BBB in Houston, Austin and California, at bbb.org.  Also, contacted the Attorney General for the states of Texas and California filing with Consumer Protection and Affairs and taken on an attorney.  We truly hope this never happens to anyone else.  Since January 2013, they are operating as Romex Travel out of Atlanta, GA which the address on the website is at a Law office at Suite 555.

Here's my recent experience- My brother-in-law received a fax at his workplace from Romex Travel. Keep in mind my brother in law already has a planned vacation to the Dominican Republic with his fam in June. So, he called Romex to see if they were offering the same resort where they're staying. Answer was 'yes' so he told me about it. I then called Romex and they gave us the deal of a lifetime!!!! Three nights, 4 days with airfare included! AND It's the same resort and dates my brother in law is staying at! Romex (888-491-9520, Bonnie) said those dates and the resort itself is guaranteed because It's not a big week for people to be there. Sweet! I booked for me, my mom, my other sis, etc.... 12 people total= $1530... I was supposed to receive my package to 'activate my vacation' within 7-10 biz days. At that point I'm supposed to call to activate($69 per person). Yes, that was all disclosed- no biggie. Here's where it all changes.... Package was not here in time, so I called for them to send it. Apparently the 'shipping dept' didn't have any info on me. Well, finally it got resolved-ok, I'll let it ride. Now, Today, when I call to activate(the travel center, 23219 stringtown rd #223, MD), I spoke to the GM(really honest guy-ray), and he said I shld have never been told that those dates and resort was guaranteed. He didn't 'really want to take my $ under false pretenses. I keep calling Romex and no one can get me in touch with Bonnie. Imagine that... If it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck- well, u know.... Draw your own conclusion. That's just my personal take on the situation... Hope this helps.
