- Jack| 10 repliesThese individuals are trash...basically feeding you fear and will call everyone that you've used as a reference for in the past or they will lookup your family names and get their contact info also.
The calls always start with a message from some made up f***ing name from a private number stating there is a legal matter pending against you and to call some number right away plus a case number. For me it was, 888-492-3728.
Here's the real sorry, they look up your credit report (Found they are they called HRNE under your credit inquiries). Once they see some information about past due account they use your contact information they've gathered and try to scare you. Feel free to file a suit against these people as they are violating every FCA rule basically and you can get up to $1,000 per incident of harrassment if handled properly.
I did call the number back and demanded proper identity before I told them anything about myself. They couldn't even tell me what "TR" meant in their company name. Then I asked them if they were really PMG and the guy basically told me he didn't have time for this and had another call and hung up on me.
Here are some contact information I wasn able to obtain:

- Lyn replies to Jack| 2 repliesJack,
OMG!!! I just got a Blocked call from a lady saying she is a independent processor server. Says she wants to serve me with a summons and will I be home on a between the hours of 8 and 4. When I said no and started to question her, she said; " she is not important but, the referrance # is _ _ _ _ _ and I can call, yeah you guessed it, 888-492-3728.
Your right it is a little scary, got in a fight with hubby trying to figure out what the " heck " and who did what. Well, nothing we didn't do anything. So glad you posted this note, made feel a lot better.
Thanks,
Lyn - sue| 1 replyNasty people calling all kinds of relatives after telling them I was filing BK. Reported to BBB

- HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE replies to Lyn| 1 replyI just received the same exact call, not only to my number but also to my ex-husband's home number who I've been divorced from for over 10 years. Wow, this is horrible & the things they say put you in a bad characteristic light.
- questionsaboutprocessservers replies to Jack| 5 repliesI have a question, do process servers usually call your work, tell all of your co-workers that they want to serve you (giving co-workers your first and last name) along with specifically stating the day they plan to serve? I thought process servers rely on element of surprise? Also, they called once last week, I told them serve me at home, they said they can't change the address of service and gave me the number 888-492-3728 to have that change made for me. I called, he said I'm being sued by HSBC (according to my credit report they charged off the debt, and the debt was 500--I'm supposedly being sued for 2400) and I will be served with the lawsuit tomorrow unless I pay 1800.00 today. The guy was polite till I said I wasn't giving him 1800. He then became hostile, and told me:
we are serving you with default judgment tomorrow
you will have no right to a court hearing
we're taking 35% of your wages
anything you have in the bank
and liquidating all your assets
I questioned him, told him I had an attorney, attempted to give ATTY info and he hung up.
Today (exactly 7 days later) the process server called work AGAIN. This time telling an entirely new co-worker all about me, stating he is trying to serve me and I keep avoiding him. Further stating that he just wishes I would STOP IGNORING HIS CALLS. She told another coworker and now 4 of them know about this. Plus the guy is lying, I spoke with him directly, I was willing to arrange a place for him to serve me at, HE STATED HE CAN'T MAKE SERVICE ARRANGEMENTS.
I'VE HANDED THIS MATTER OVER TO MY ATTORNEY ANYWAY, THEY ARE HARRASSING ME, AND I'M OFFICIALLY KEEPING RECORDS OF IT ALL.
been looking at my credit report to see proof that they bought this debt, can't find their name anywhere, thanks to these posts I know they have many names. - Too tired to deal with this matter replies to questionsaboutprocessservers| 1 replyI have had the exact same thing happen to me just a few minutes ago. Only, I was a little nervous and asked the man, if it was normal procedure to leave such a detailed message about the person who is being sued and supposedly receiving a summons to serve in court for a debt owed. He said, "I promise I know how much information to release over the phone. I know my job." Then he hung up. I don't understand how anyone has nothing better to do than harrass and attempt to scam people for their money. I work to hard and don't have time to deal with this type of stuff. If anyone asked me, I'd tell them to get a real job and stop harrassing law abiding citizens. If I have a bad debt, send me the info and I will gladly pay it.
- . replies to sueWelcome to the Corona Scam.
They are a fake "debt collection" phone extortion racket operating out of Corona CA, under over 50 hames, using many numbers, and many mail drops in the area to appear to be different "collection agencies", to try to hide that they are all the same scammers.
Check your credit reports, and you will probably find a recent inquiry under one of the Corona Scam front names, shortly before the harassing calls started. They can find information on your old accounts on your credit report to use in this scam, to try to con you into believing you owe some "debt" to them while never providing any proof.
Calling relatives as a threat to embarass and harass their victims is one of their tactics.
Many of these calls are made under the pretense that they are "process servers", implying that some "lawsuit" has been filed.
They are a bunch of liars, just like the Indian fake "debt collection" scammers, just with no accent.
The rash of consumer complaints pointing to Corona has resulted in interest by the FTC.
Contact FTC. - . replies to Too tired to deal with this matterIf they sent anything, you could use it to prove they are engaged in fraudulent collection.
They won't send you any information because they are lying and faking. - . replies to questionsaboutprocessservers"we are serving you with default judgment tomorrow"
They are a bunch of liars.
"you will have no right to a court hearing"
They don't "sue", so there isn't any chance of a "court hearing".
They are a bunch of liars.
"we're taking 35% of your wages"
Most states don't allow anywhere near that high of garnishment, but then, they are a bunch of liars.
"anything you have in the bank
and liquidating all your assets"
They are a bunch of liars.
Contact FTC. - . replies to HIGH BLOOD PRESSUREIt's an extortion racket.
They routinely call relatives first, since their goal is to harass, embarass, intimidate, and panic you, trying to con you into paying a fake "debt". - Isabel| 1 replyIt is Sept. 6th and have a msg on the answering machine from a guy who says his name is Michael Branda, and he's calling us re: a legal complaint. Same number to call back: 1-888-492-3728. He also gave a case #. So this scam is really going around. Thank you for looking into it in depth and getting to the truth that whoever is doing this is a liar and it's all a big scam. Will be reporting this to the FTC.

- Seattle replies to IsabelI received a blocked phone number call, and the lady told be there was a legal complaint against me and she was ready to serve me court papers so I can appear in court. She also told me if called (888) 492-3728 within the next hour and gave them my case# she provided I could work something out. I called the number and they were asking to confirm old credit report information. The person was reluctant to provide any information about their company and would not inform me who the creditor they are trying to collect for was. He started out callinf out information on my 5 year old credit report asking me to confirm the information in it. I told the person to send me a letter or do what ever they need to do "legally". These guys are scam artists. Do not give or confirm any information!!! I'm going to file a legal complaint with the FTC. You should too.
