Definitely a fraud.  I had some fraudulent charges on a credit card (which Capital One thankfully reimbursed!), changed my credit card number, and have gotten 7 phone calls (no voicemails though...) in the past 4-5 days from these guys.  DEFINITELY NOT THE REAL CAPITAL ONE (whose *only* legit fraud protection number is a 1-800 number.)

I recently made a purchase for gas and when I received my Capital One statement, there were numerous charges for phone cards not made by me. Capital One issued me a new card etc. I get calls from this number at least 5 times per day and they are not from Capital One.

Cap One told me it's them.

Just telling me they were mailing the fraud forms were in the mail.

Good grief...Cap One has a lot of fraud.  Their system must be easy to manipulate.  Makes me wonder if I want to continue to do business with them.

Same story as above; card was compromised last week, got issued a new card from Cap One; got this number as two missed calls today (no voicemail). Called Capital One and they said it is NOT from them, so don't give out any info to this number! Just call Cap One with the number on the back of your card with any questions.

I purchased a 'free' trial of Acai berry months ago & had to fight & fight to get my money back once they charged me the recurring monthly fee of $89.95 (after I cancelled within the cancellation period).
I received an email back in May stating 'Thank you for joining' some BS fitness thing I did not join.
The email said i joined back in April & they just charged by card $69.95 & shipped my order'.  I had NOT joined or ordered anything. They charged my card $69.96 and I could not reach these guys (ITech Marketing). I researched this & found it out they were doing this to everyone they had a credit card number for!
This was on my CapitalOne card so I called the fraud Dept & went round and round with them too. Questions like 'what have you done to get this charge reversed' when did I contact I-Tech Mktg to settle this, etc.. Couldn't get the [***] chick to understand it was a BS company fraudulently charging my card for something I did not order. They re-issued me a new card.

They really need to shut down this number. DON'T ANSWER IT and call the number on the back of your Capital One Card! .. AND if it was that important they'd LEAVE A MESSAGE! These people just call and call.. how annoying !!!

I also had fraud on my card and started receiving calls from this number. Thank goodness for this forum or I may have fallen for it. This is NOT Capital One. I JUST called them and they said it's not their number and they have not tried to reach me. They suggested when someone claiming to be from Capital One calls, ask for their employee ID number, they only have one format of employee ID numbers at their company.

This is not a Capital One number.  It's an attempt at ID theft or a bill collector.

I don't have a Capital One credit card, nor have I ever bought acai berry or anything like that. It looks to me as if this number is purely a scam. The posts here indicating it is not could be scam posts as well to get people to let their guard down.

I received a call from this number 888-618-8906, but I ignored it.  I do not have a Capital Credit card.
