no info is given because of privacy laws do you really want them giving out info to just anyone? what if your kid answers the phone or inlaws, I used to be a bill collector at another place and thats what we did /no info given until you verify who you are "privacy laws"

called our daughter's cell phone looking for my husband. They never called our house and we haven't received any bills or notices of anything unpaid. As far as I know we don't owe any medical bills.  I don't know why the would have called our daughter's cell. It has no connection to us.

Okay this number is for State Collection Services LLC in Madison, Wisconsin. They collect on State Of Wisconsin Public Defender bills, hospital/doctor/emergency room bills, clinical bills, lab bills, etc. They are a legit collection agency and if you call and say, "YOU'RE CALLING THE WRONG PERSON" they will remove your number. If it is you, they don't have to verify your social security number. They need your name and to make sure it's you by you TELLING them either the account # or the # they called you at (with area code please). They do skiptrace so if you get a call and they ask for the wrong person call the # back and let them know it's a wrong number, it's super easy. This collection agency is a lot easier to work with rather than Security Net LLC, etc. Plus, they don't call every day.

REMEMBER:  collectors are NOT allowed to block their number OR who they are.  FEDERAL LAW and many states have better language to sue them under.  Also they are NOT allowed to use automated messages - it is ILLEGAL.  IF you get one, report them to the FTC for violating collection laws and contact your states department for regulation to make a local complaint.  THIS is how they get fined and shut down.

AND when you tell them they have a WRONG NUMBER: and they continue to ask you questions?  let them know they have violated federal law AGAIN and you are reporting them for giving out personal information ON someone as well as hiding WHO they are.

They called me several times tonight, first they showed up as ' 000 ' only on my CID and I let them know:  your violating FED law!  not even half an hour later, they called back using the 888 689 3894 number, but it still does not show the company name, but the man kept saying: do you know [redacted]?  when I told him to REMOVE my phone number from their database and I was filing ANOTHER complaint against them.  He asked me NO less than 4x : but do you know [redacted]

Would it make it easier for you pumpkin if I type like this? Anyhow, how would you feel if you were a business owner and someone came to your store and took tons of merchandise telling you they'd "pay later" and ran off with your goods and never paid? Hmm. I wonder when people put themselves in the situation of other business owners if they understand the necessary evils of having collection agencies, the credit bureaus, etc? Perhaps not....

No, quite often their records are innacurate. I have a perfect Credit Record. The made the mistake of arguing with me so I reported them to the State Licensing Board, the Attorney Generals Office, and the appropriate Police Departments for Criminal Fraud and Harassment. I am now in the process of instituting a law suit against them.

The only time i get calls from these people is when a hospital is trying to collect the difference between what they want to charge and what they are contracted to get from an insurance company. I cannot say how many times I've had to show Insurance EIBs to these people. People pay their bills trying to collect the difference is unfortunately a common tactic used by Hospitals to get a little extra. And is ILLEGAL.

-Never pay them over the Phone ALWAYS get proof in writing. If you do indeed need to pay, Pay with a traceable money order. Never give out your CC info.
