Typed in web addy wrong and computer went to site that said "security alert" and started non-stop beeping.  It said to call 888-727-0365. I restarted the computer then...knowing it to be a scam...decided to call the number for thier "tech support" out of curiosity.  They did all they could to sound legit...advised call being recorded for CS, had me on hold forever, then and Indian gent comes on and started walking me thru the "recovery" process wherein I type in a web address and "run" the file to fix my machine. Yeah, RIGHT! Mystery solved, I hang up. then the phone rings and it hangs up. *69 said the phone # calling was 347338276 which can't be right unless 34 is the international code. Whatever. Total scam and scary as sure people are taken in, especially older folks.

Similar thing happened to me but in reverse. I must have some sort of redirecting virus. I tried to go to a website that I've often gone to. Redirected to another site and there appeared that SECURITY ALERT with that non-stop beeping and the phone number to call which was 888-727-0365. I shut down everything (even though the security alert said not to).  Then I called 888-727-0365. The guy who answered was disappointed that I had shut down the computer and he asked me to turn it on again which I did. Then he practically begged me to give him permission to access my computer which I absolutely refused. He told me he was a Microsoft representative. I have to say he sounded SOO legitimate and appropriately courteous but there was no way that I would allow him access, and since he said he couldn't help me without access, we politely hung up. THEN I searched the number  (with another browser) and found this site and obviously the number is a SCAM and it's sure not Microsoft. He spoke English with only a slight accent. NOW I'm going to try to get rid of this virus.

Yep, total scam site.  One has to hit dot com to get to it.  Sure wish the dot net site would post a warning about being extra careful not to type dot com.  Quite frankly, it would not shock me if it were the actual game site that set up the dot com, as punishment.

You do not have to totally shut down/reboot to get out of it.  You can open your Task Manger & close your browser there.   You can then open a new page in the same browser & are fine.

I always make sure to run CCleaner, or the like, right away when I incorrectly put in the dot com.

One of those face palm moments that's a PITA for not paying attention to what you actually type.

Got the same thing. Said it was from Comcast. Beebing, number to call. Horrible people out there.

A gray screen came on my computer telling me AT&T and Windows had detected a Malware threat. Gave my the number to call and advised me not to shut down or I ran the risk of program loss and/or other damage. Fortunately I know people so I called them and they advised me on what to do, No damage done!

When using Chrome and searching for Teksavvy I got  the popup with the beeping and a warning not to shut down the computer.The message said to call Techsavvy tech support at 8887270365. The Teksavvy support # is 18773572889.
I restarted my computer and I cannot see any problems.

Same thing I made a typo or something and next thing I knew there was this infernal beeping and the message telling me to call 888-727-0365.  I cooperated with him to a point, but got suspicious when he would not confirm exactly who he was.  At the point where I was supposed to give him control of my computer I bailed on the call.  I had to do a hard reset just to get out of his site.  My advice if you get that message reboot and get the hell out of it.  Don't let it scare you like it did me.  Just get out it's a scam.

MS Corp., Microsoft imposter, phishing scam follow up after attacking your PC!!!

I did something in Chrome and got to a web page with a dialog saying BSOD: dllRgeisterSetting with continuous beeping on my computer.  It gave me instructions to call their "Microsoft certified technicians" by calling "Tollfree Helpline: 888-727-0365". I figured this was a phishing attack but I don't know how I got this page since I hadn't visited any suspect sites.  Anyway, I was curious and called the telephone number of their "helpline".  An Indian guy said he'll take control of my computer to see what was wrong.  I told him no way was I going to do that and I hung up.

Message alert that interrupted my search. Laptop beeping etc. Wanted $99 to fix my computer. Hung up then received phone call from 0000000000. Hung up. Scam.

Knowing it is a scam, I pretended to be computer illiterate which the swallowed hook line and sinker. I just keep saying that something with their wed site is down. They had me try a few different ones. I had some time to kill and wanted to get some amusement. (yea get a life, right) After being passed around to a few "techs' the "supervisor" Indian became belligerent and hung up. I kept calling back until I filled their voicemail system up. So if you have some time to kill, have some fun with them and scam the scammers!

Same popup with beeping ---8887270365---so i called. He said he was from MS . So i sort of did the same as  what u did --i said i had a apple computer and is that the same as MS-- He said i have a os problem i said you said ms on and on (whos on First) I would repeat what he said and then say I do not understand and ask same question again-----It got very funny and i started laughing and said i was going to report and he hung up---it still keeps happening and i am not on any sites that are questionable

I mis-typed my local craigslist address and a notice came up only computer, saying there was suspicious activity with a bunch of AT&T wordage. It locked my computer and warned me NOT to restart my computer and that I needed to call 1-888-727-0365. Intuitively, it felt not right but I called the number out of curiosity.

There was no statement as to whom I was speaking with. I asked for the business name and the Indian man spoke it so fast I couldn't understand what he was saying and went on rather quickly to a king me for my computer make and serial number. I inquired again, saying that I am confused, when I google this number there is no business name. The man HUNG UP.

I called back, thinking maybe we were disconnected...? Another Indian man answered and when I stated my problem and asked him who I was speaking to he said a business name so fast that i didn't catch it. I asked him again and he started yelling saying I called him and that if he didn't call me he legally doesn't have to state the business license. I stated again that I just wanted to know the business NAME and who I was speaking to and he said it so damn fast I couldn't understand him. He proceeded to keep yelling it at me. I told him I would figure my problem out myself. I restarted my computer and it is fine.

Scam avoided!!

Was searching for a site and got a gray screen a bunch of beeping and a message telling me not to shut down my computer and call the number for a Microsoft technician because of suspicious activity. BS!  I have a Mac, Microsoft can't help me. Was curious about the number and sure enough found it here. I always verify numbers now. This is a good scam to those unsuspecting. Never ever ever give access to you computer to someone over the phone unless you truly know them. Once you give it to them you're screwed.

 I was using http://ffxiclopedia.wikia.com/ to look up stuff on palemoon when the new tab opened up to that horrid beeping.
 It takes you to (http://test2-3095.kxcdn.com) and that didn't seem like a legit page to me.  I looked up the # given and it took me to this sight.  So clearly a scam.
 I had to use task manager to close down palemoon as it would not close the tab or the browser otherwise.  Upon reopening though I must have had history on as it came up again but this time allowed me to close the tab.  I can't see how to add it to my ad blockers plug ins though so I reported it to https://www.google.com/safebrowsing/report_badware/

Oh my goodness this showed up and I actually called the number and they were playing around with my computer via remotely now I am really scared because I don't know if they already got my information or not. I kept telling them that I don't have any money and they told me that their security program would cost me $800 I kept telling them that I don't have that kind of money right now and they hung up on me and then continued to access my computer remotely so I shut it down. I just bought this laptop last night and I am already scared to even turn it back on

How do you know if it gives you a virus??

it is called malwear and i suggest that you gett a virus scanner to remove it

Ok I did access to this guy later I find out this was spam. I reset my PC what can I do now? Please help, thiis PC has confidential info.
