Constant calling, starting today at 7 am. I have a family member dying, so I sure don't appreciate scammers calling off-hours while expecting a call from the hospital. What is the point, anyway, of dialing then disconnecting?

Possibly to see when a live voice answers the call. This can be charted and resold to other parties of pests so they'll have a good idea when to call may be. Block the number if you're able or make sure there's no kind of answer on your end. All apologies for your misfortunes.

I actually reported a local company because they kept calling everyday and would not take no for an answer. I finally reported this company to the National Do Not call website and the calls stopped. It looks like its only good for local businesses that do not spoof their numbers

If anyone is interested, this alert came through today: Amazon.com Scam Hits Holiday Shoppers
    •    You get an e-mail that appears to be from Amazon.com stating your recent order cannot be shipped.
    •    Claiming a problem with processing, the e-mail informs you that you won’t be able to access your account or place orders with Amazon until you confirm your information.
    •    A “click here” link leads to an authentic-looking Amazon web page to confirm your name, address and credit card information.
    •    After entering the information and clicking on a “save and continue” button, you are redirected to Amazon’s actual website.
    What You Should Know:
    •    The scam e-mail subject line will say “Your Amazon.com order cannot be shipped.”
    •    If the “from” line in the e-mail contains an Internet Service Provider other than @amazon.com, the e-mail is not from Amazon.

Answered because I was expecting a call that could be from a toll free number. Turned out to be recording about some sort of credit card scam so I hung up.

3 back to back calls within seconds of each other, all answered in our office between different people. I called back, dead silence, then a recording saying the phone number dialed is disconnected and our of service. A**holes!

Got several more calls from this 1-888-727-1127.  I left the phone ring until answering machine came on.  Once again NO Message left.  I decided since getting 5-6 calls from this number in 1 week I would call it back..   Phone rang but then went to nothing dead air,  then a few seconds I got a busy signal.   WHAT???  How can this be???   Fake number, can call me but can't call it back!   If you are calling 6 times in a week, getting no answer then STOP calling me.

Spoofed caller id. And only SCAMMERS spoof caller id! It's also not a good idea to call these numbers back, unless you want more calls.

This is the 0% credit card scam.  Rather than waste MY time giving these suckers fake information, I press '1' to get a person - then I let them have a big blast from my air horn.  For some reason, :D, this seems to keep these [***] from wanting to call ME again!
