- Mike BBwahahaha! I know it was a scam, but called the number to give them a hard time. Acted like I didn't know what was going on and continued to run this guy around in circles. When I finally confronted him, he acted like he had no clue what was going on and then proceeded to try and get a supervisor to talk to me. Put me on hold and when he came back, he tried to disguise his voice... but the thick Indian accent was still evident it was the same guy. LOL. I say call them and waste their time just like they are wasting ours! These guys are [***]!
- kayla| 5 repliesGave my laptop a very aggressive virus which then automatically through Wi-Fi spread to my desk top.. I tried everything to no avail to get rid of it, and finally decided to go back and go to complete erase, manufacturers settings and it would not let me do that on either computer.. It simply blocked me from booting and re-booting the entire system.. I now have 2 useless computers, nothing can be done.. Very upset..
- BigA replies to kaylaI will try to see if i can find one of the computer guys to help you.
- Herman replies to kaylaGo to http://800auxiliary.com/viewforum.php?f=24 and post your issues there. We can fix whatever ails your computer there.
- May replies to kaylaUnfortunately, Kayla, this site is merely a forum for information and experience with unknown callers. You should call your computer manufacturer or take it (them) to the geek squad or any repairman in your area. There a lots of ways for the "techies" to help with computer viruses. Good luck.
- srnobie replies to jlantI got the blue screen and then it proceeded to tell me I had an infection that would take over computer and steal all data. Thank you.
- Katie replies to kaylaThis is a type of ransomware I believe. Security companies have warned that ransomware is getting more and more common. If you accidently clicked on a website infect with it, it was automatically downloaded onto your computer. If they are using the new unbreakable type, then there's nothing you can do until someone cracks a way to get rid of it. But you should take it to a computer person and see, because in the older verisons there is a backdoor through the program.
- Ticked Off replies to jlantJust had this stupid blue screen and a white one on top of it hijack my computer not letting me "X" out or move forward; stating that I had contracted a virus that was designed to steal all my data and to call 888-732-8083 for assistance immediately. I called this lady was in India and told me to calm down because she had to take control of my computer in order to fix it. No one takes control of my computer-I hung up. Waited and called back a guy answered said he was in India when I asked why he did not answer with "Microsoft" he said he was with Premium Techs and they are listed on the bottom of the Microsoft Webpage-nah. I felt scam. I forced a shut down and began to rerun my antivirus'.
- mmhad audio burst on computer stating we had a windows virus and security issue and to call 888-732-8083. Checked with our tech services-SCAM
- Caller: said it was Windows
- ThomasI went to the seemingly benign site, pictures from the 90's or something, and the screen did what all of you experienced. Same number, but this time, a female voice uttered the urgency to call the 888 732 8083. The perils of not calling the number would be daunting. I bypassed the message, I think by hitting the Microsoft button that took me from the blue screen with the message to a Microsoft page (win 8.1)
- mike replies to kaylahave you tried it safe mode???
- Trudy| 1 replyI just got this message, I called and they could get into my computer without giving them information, what do I do
- qwerty replies to TrudyThis is a well known scam. Do NOT talk to them or give them access to your computer. Block the number.
- Dan C replies to jlantFor my sister, I had her run the CCleaner program that was on her computer, then shut down completely and restart. When it came back up, it was running fine.
