It's not "legit". Your caller is nothing more than another bogus/fraudulent debt collector from WNY. Which comes as no surprise considering that WNY is the birthplace of the bogus debt collection industry. Read through this thread, all is explained.
Tracking them down is usually an exercise in futility. The Dirt-bags involved in fraudulent debt collection in WNY have been at this for years. They learned the "trade" from their fathers. Who, sometimes, learned it from THEIR fathers. Hiding like 'roaches is something that they've refined to a fine art. They use addresses that come back as "Suites" at UPS stores. They never put anything in the mail. Even 'roaches fear prosecutions for Mail Fraud. They change company names more often than their underwear & their assets are hidden more carefully than their inferiority complexes. They are beneath contempt & are absolutely nothing to be afraid of. All they do is bluster & throw around BS.
When dealing with a WNY collector who calls "out of the blue" keep some things in mind. If the debt is valid, that collector is now required to send you a notice of validation BY MAIL within 5 business days. As per the FDCPA. That WNY collector won't be mailing a thing. The debt he's attempting to collect will be invalid. It will be time-barred or otherwise uncollectable. It's also a good possibility that the WNY collector will be trying to collect on a Pay-day Loan. If that's the case the collector is in violation of the law right out of the gate. It's illegal in the state of NY to even try to collect PDLs. WNY debt collectors are about as low as people get in the US. It's easy to see through them. DEMAND proof of any claims in writing BY MAIL. VERIFY EVERYTHING! DEMAND a physical address. Verify it. If all a collector will provide is a box number or an address that comes back as being a UPS store...pay them NOTHING! NEVER pay a collector by 'phone. If you can't pay a debt by a 100% traceable means BY MAIL...pay them NOTHING!
Legitimate debt collection agencies collecting legitimate debts have nothing to hide. They'll be up front with their information & won't have a problem with using the US mail. It's when dealing with junk debt buyers, third party collectors, scammers & frauds that things start to get "murky". When in doubt...don't give out any information & don't pay a penny!
    Be Safe. Be Aware.

I have gotten calls at home and on my mobile stating Drew Wilson has papers he needs to send me at my home or work. I started getting these calls about a week ago and the last one was today( 3/8/16)on my mobile . Its the same message every time and he asks for me by a name I havent gone by in at least 10 years. I refuse to call especially after what I've read on this site. Thinking of blocking the number.

DO NOT in any way give these people money. I received a call from "Patty" yesterday stating the same I own money and she was a processor not a creditor. She was very friendly. I believed her and assumed I must have had an old debt from 10 years ago because of the contact information she had on me. I gave her a small amount but realized after research this may be fraud. I received a settlement of offer letter via email the next day with the letter head from a hardy.and.newton@gmail.com, email from a Todd Abraham. Patty stated the attorney's she represented where Hardy & Newton out of Glendale California. I did my own research with the credit card company they represented and found I satisfied the account 2 years ago. When I asked Todd via email that I wanted contact information for Hardy & Newton Attorney or the company they represented he stated "we will not tolerate or be accused of doing anything malicious" and was going to refund the money I gave them, close the account and forward it back to their client. Please note I sent a very professional email and in no way was rude or inappropriate. If this was really a true credit collection agency or a reputable company they would share contact information and you would be able to find them on line. I could find nothing on a Hardy & Newton. I am an educated professional and I don't want anyone to have this situation happen to them. Beware and do your own research prior to giving money.

Me too, The caller left message saying they had papers to deliver to me.  Company name was not given, caller is nothing more than another bogus/fraudulent debt collector. Any type of Robot call is most definitely a fraud, if you didn't receive a letter first its all a scam.

Drew gave me a call yesterday, I told him payment was not a problem but in this world to get, you must first give.  He said "what do you mean" so I told him he needed to bend over and get whats coming to him.  He said "[***] you" and I asked "your place or mine" and then he hung up.

They called my home number, cell number, and mom's cell number all at the same time. No message left on home phone. Voicemail left on cell phones: "My name is Ken Scales and I have some papers I need to deliver at your home or place of employment. If you have any questions call 888-677-2022."  No other identifying information provided.

I just received a call as well. Person name ken Scale? What type of name is that? They want to serve me paper at my home or job. Well if they do by all means they should just come and do so. Why call and warn me? If they have my number they must have my addresses and if they don't have my address how will they serve me? I am not going to just give my address out. I am pretty pissed off.

I had a message stating I was going to be served so I called the number. Told Paul he could send any pertinent info to me through the mail. He said he didnt know why I thought I was in charge. I hung up on him. I did get him to say they were trying to collect on a credit card I had 16 years ago. That card was paid and closed.

I have received 3 calls in the past 5 days and my son has received 2 calls about an account of mine that I closed several years ago. They claim that I still owe $1572.13 and that a Lien was being placed on my home and court papers were being prepared for my arrest. The first person who called was David Dorsey. The second person who called was Mary who said that I was going to be arrested. I also spoke with Richard Santos who wanted payment in full. They are also harassing my son about this. When they called, I was in the hospital having a heart attack!
