DirecTV trying to sell bundle pricing for DirecTV, Internet, and home phone.  Odd as they called my cell, as I have not shared that number with them (although I am already a DirecTV customer - which he did not appear to be aware of).

AT&T - DirecTV trying to sell bundled packaging who knew amazingly little about my existing DirecTV account.
Odd conversation making me wonder if they were reel AT&T employees or a third party reseller.

Called my wife last week and said he was directv. Wanted the serial number of the Genie Box on our system.  Then said we needed an upgrade. Wanted a bank card number.  She refused and they called back tonight. Wanted the credit card number again. I called DirecTV number on their website. They said it’s a scam. Googled the number and it takes you to a site that isn’t DirecTV. This IS a Scam!

They actually hacked my account.  Knew my account number and the model number of Receiver Boxes. Also knew how much I pay per month.  You can add another password by calling DirecTV and setting it up.

Thats why you never give any info to a stranger on the phone...not even the serial number of a device. Some scammers have been at it long enough to know what to ask in order to get information they can use to gain more information...then into your account.
Most of these "hackers" simply guess passwords or use the vague info they gathered to persuade an unsuspecting customer service rep off guard with some sympathy story and...BOOM...they are accessing your account, gathering even more about you.

Obvious scam of some type. Picked up the phone and a guy with a thick East Indian accent said "Hello...Hello." I didn't say a word and in the background heard a lot of people loudly speaking in Hindi. I doubt DirecTV is behind these calls. Blocked.
