said they were from "the county" serving me important papers. urgent to call back. case number given.

They left a message saying they were a collection agency, gave a name and account of the person they’re trying to reach, threatened to take this to court after 2 call attempts.  Wrong name, wrong number.

Called and threatened to serve legal papers.  I didn't give any information.  Asked who I could talk to about the subject matter of the "legal papers", and said she didn't have that info, but gave this number to call about "my case number".  Scam

Same kind of scam caller. Said his name was David Cooper from Process Service Dispatch Dept and gave some bogus case number. He said that the case was going to be a default judgement or some nonsense. The call ID was blocked as unknown but he left the same number others have posted. 888-827-3164

Same numbers called.  Left mag about being process server dispatch in my county on several numbers and left this number and three different  case numbers.   No such process server exists in area they were calling. Google the number they left and found no info. Beware!!

But you can either pay the amount owed or court papers would be served!” I asked him to send the papers through the mail or email me a copy and he wouldn’t even acknowledge my question.  When I said that it was a scam, he got very ugly with me. He gave me the name of Robert and Associates in California.  When I Googled the phone number, this page popped up!

Robert and Associates 888-827-3164 says they are out of Pasadena Ca. They look up prior money defaults and cross reference social media to find your phone number then try to squeeze money from you even though THEY HAVE NO JURISDICTION NOR RIGHT. They say they will serve you la law suit if you don't pay them. They are a SCAM praying on weak people that don't know the law. If you have ever owed a bank, they use this public information to try to get you to pay them. None of the money you would pay will every go towards the debt. It all would go to these sleazy scam artists! Plus, they're praying on people during the holidays which makes it even more suspicious. DO NOT TALK TO THESE SCAMMERS!

This number called both my landline and my cell with the same message as other people here have said. The thing that pisses me off about it was not that an obvious scammer called me for the upteenth time but that they claimed to be calling about my mother who died five years ago this month but who also never knew the two numbers that were called. The former tells me just what what kind of scumbags these people are while the latter is puzzling to me.

What makes them even more suspicious is that they are using the names of deceased individuals in an attempt to extort money from people. The messages I received from them claimed they were calling about my mother whose been dead for five years now.

888-827-3164 Same story as above.  Unknown caller gave this number and was told if I wasn't in court on Monday they would issue a warrant for my arrest.  When questioning Robert and Associates he was rude and hung up on me.

Just tell the degenerate that you're going to check with your local Clerk of Courts office & see if you're on the civil docket for Monday. After listening to that weasel squirm, you'll be laughing uncontrollably for 20 minutes.
His threat of arrest is based on a fictitious failure to appear, leading to a fictitious contempt of court charge. Quite impossible seeing as you'll find there's no case to begin with...

They called and  left a message about a "failed attempt to serve a legal document requiring signature".  They adviced me to call this 888 number. Googled the number and found this forum.  Must be BS.

They are scammers and very rude as if you owe them your life. Don't get into this. They should be hunt down and hanged in city squares.

Second time they have called me with case number, stating "I've been served". I did call from another phone and it appeared to be a debt collector. I hung up, DUH.  They called back in December, got ahold of my kids and brother trying to locate me. Same as the other comments, the phone number was unknown so that's why I didn't pick up.

Name was Bruce Wayne or some bs.  They knew who I owed & knew it was tax season so great time to scam.  Told me if I make $100 payment it would be $100 fee.  I laughed soo hard it offended him.  He threw out some bogus settlement amount & I told him I was driving to work.  PLEASE NOTE they are praying on folks with tax money who have collection balance.  I called to confirm who my debt was passed onto & it wasn't Bruce lol
