I received a call from 239-234-2968 and it was a recorded msg stating to call them back at 888-841-7048. It said that I owe someone and that I could include my statement in the claim. Only problem is that I owe nothing, I have no past due bills at all so please be careful when dealing with this company.

I am trying to confirm if  this counts as "contact"?  If it does, they have 5 days to send you a debt verification letter.  If they don't you can sue them.  If they do, then you can send them a demand for validation.  This will stop all collection activities while they scramble around trying to prove that you owe the debt and that they are legally allowed to collect it.  If they can't or won't prove it, then you have no legal obligation to them.

I got the same phone call and this is a scam. A recording and saying I owe someone and want to take my statement.  They first called from a 315 254 2704.  I will report them.

I recieved a phone call every day at the same time for weeks from this number, I usually ignored it but getting tired of the irritation I answered. The number was 281-394-1534. It then tells me to call a number about a past due account that needs my statement. That number was what pulled up this website. It is 888-841-7048. I did call and press the prompt for further info and a person picked up, but about that time this website also had these comments about a scam so I hung up the phone.

This number keeps calling my parent's house.  It is a recorded message saying that if you are not Jackie, hang up now and disregard the call.  The problem is that they call multiple times a day.  I don't owe anything to anyone.  I called the number to tell them to stop harassing my parents, but can't get a human being.  I'm reporting them, as well.  

I do not have a past due debt!  
They call here all the time.  
They use another number. 1-337-205-4541 and leave the 1-888-841-7048 numer to return their call.
PLEASE STOP THEM CALLING MY HOME!

I just received the same phone call, they ask you to press 0 to leave a statement and when you do, the call disconnects. The call came from phone number 1-281-394-1534.

An automated system has been calling my home number for over a year now, warning me to call them back at (888) 841-7048. Now, the warning has escalated to the level of (paraphrased, not an exact quote): "File number XXXXXXX is now being prepared for final review by our client(s). Unless you call (888) 841-7048 as soon as you receive this message, your "statement" will not be included in our final review of this report to our client." As with the other reports above, I owe nothing to no one.

I just got the same message, and I do not owe any money to anyone!  I have never had any contact from anyone prior regarding any debt, so this "escalated" call made me search the 888 number they left me and I found this site.

I am getting the same calls and took your advice today.
I am waiting 7 days for a letter of verification... but no one can give me information on this "debt"... I don't recall ever taking out this card.

when asks why I want this information... I say to validate the debt... they say well what is your reason???

I am irritated and want to know if there is anything I can do regarding this...

I have never heard from them except for today when they called my office.
they also have a po box address for me.. I have never had a po box.

I received calls from a Utica Michigan #, 586-884-3549.  Automated call stated I owed a debt and have not responded to their inquiries.  I have never received anything from Halstead Financial.  The message left an 888 # and a file #.  When I called the 888#, the gentleman wanted to verify my phone #, OK, not a problem.  Then he wanted me to verify my SS#.  I replied that I would not provide that and he said "OK Goodbye" and hung up!  

I feel very uneasy about this call with all the scams out there!

Now since I was hung up on yesterday afternoon, I have received 2 calls from another # 517-507-3167

I got several calls from this same company, Halstad Financial services, never heard of them before.  I do not owe them anything.  They call my work number and home number.  Amazing how these people can keep bugging us.  Number they called me on was a number with area code 405.  I just deleted both messages.  I do not bother to call them back.

This number came up many times. .

I called the 281 number back and some guy answered and when I asked him to repeat who he was representing, he hing up on me.  I called to 888 number back, it rattled off some file number and then when it was going to connect me, it said to call back during normal business hours.

I received the same call today asking to call this 800 number. Not calling or anything else.  They didn't give a company name just rattled off some file number etc.

Called them back, they wanted my phone number. Gave it to the guy. He gave ME the last four of my SS# (legitimate company will never do this)...then proceeded to rattle off 3 credit card companies/banks, none of which were any I've ever had. I asked him to send a letter to verify the debt. He immediately went from nice & businesslike to very hostile. He wanted SS# and said since the last 4 of SS# he gave to ME matched...that I was admitting to the debts on these cards I've never had. I told him we were done and I'd be contacting my State Attorney General....he instantly toned it down and wanted to laugh that surely I was joking. I restated what I would do and hung up on him while he kept rattling on laughing that surely I wanted to talk about this so-called debt. 99.99% sure this is a huge scam. Report them. They will have just barely enough information that'll make you nervous. They are not a debt collector, they are a scam. Just be careful, they will want you to give your entire SS#.
