    Annoying pains in the ass. Don't give hours, no information. You either act legitimate or stop calling. Are you all 5 year olds?

    Tragic
    This is still America right? You call ME, and won't leave information about what you want? 8:00PM? Good lord!!

    You would think that if they continued to call, without leaving details, that you would really call them back? Or even if you owe money, and haven't paid them yet, you probably won't pay them now! So annoying!

    Wrote me about a student loan. I did replied wiothout supplying my phone number and ask them to send me all correspondence in writing so I could clear up any issues since this was a loan made to a fraudulent school Trianco many years ago in 1988. I know it is illegal for them to contact you by phone after you notify them in writing as I did that I did not want them calling by phone. Andy didn't honor this law. I calle him to let him know my current address and let him know there would be no further communication by phone since I did not have the ability to record his converation as he did mine and I had requested all correspondence be in writing. These bill collec tors don't care they violate the law all the time.

    They have  been calling different family members and not leaving any information. They told my daughter that it was a legal matter. She told them that if they cant tell her daughter what its about then they don't need to call her, so do not call me again. They even went as far as to call my father from a different number. I called them back and it was a machine right away stating that this call will be recorded for quality assurance then asked if I needed it in Spanish to push the number 8. I figure if you cant even pick up the phone with a human then really don't want to talk to me.  I think its student loans. Well I say add it to my portion of the national debt.

    Someone named Janica Walton called my elderly mother looking for me, supposedly regarding a "business matter". Ridiculous to call on Christmas Eve IMO & the call even being answered was a fluke as my mother was waiting to hear from her doctor! I just wonder how many other missed calls w no msgs left that come from different #s were/are actually from these people? How many #s are they using to bother or downright harass people??!

    She talk so low asked for someone that hasn't lived at home for 10 years. So excited that I would write her phone number down and pass it on.

And this site has the gaul to put a debt collector ad above my comment? What a ploy...

    I thought I was answering a friends call that showed up on my caller ID.  Are they now hacking cell phones?  My e-mail was hacked earlier this week.  Who are these people?

    There is no control over the ads that are displayed, however, if you can get the info, perhaps Admin can get it removed from showing.  Also try using firefox and get adblock plus. No ads show then at all. The ones that show are click links that help pay for the site and those are generally something to do with what one is viewing at the time or related to..  You can use the contact us link at the bottom of the page in blue..

    http://www.westdebtsolutions.com/    Is the site for West Asset Management.

    And see this: http://www.ftc.gov/news-events/press-releases ... lion-settle-ftc

    This company was :
    1 Misrepresenting itself as a law firm or that its collectors are attorneys;
    2 Misrepresenting that debtors will be arrested or have their property seized if they don’t pay;
    3 Threatening actions that would be illegal, or actions that the company has no intention of taking;
    4 Making false statements to collect a debt or obtain information about a consumer;
    5 Withdrawing funds from consumers’ bank accounts or charging their credit cards without their consent;
    6 Depositing postdated checks before the date on the check, or threatening to do so;
    7 Revealing to third parties that a consumer owes a debt;
    8 Asking a third party for a consumer’s location information more than once without the third party’s consent or a reasonable belief that the person’s earlier response was wrong or incomplete and that the person now has correct location information;
    9 Calling consumers before 8 a.m. or after 9 p.m., or at their workplace;
    10 Communicating with a consumer after receiving written notice that the consumer refuses to pay or wants the collector to stop calling; and
    11 Using obscene or profane language, or harassing consumers with repeated phone calls.

    Sound familiar?

    Also see:  http://www.ftc.gov/sites/default/files/docume ... 0316wamcmpt.pdf

    At the time in 2011, West Asset Management, Inc. ("WAM"),  was located at  2253 Northwest Parkway SE, Suite 500, Marietta, Georgia 30067.

    See:  http://www.bbb.org/nebraska/business-reviews/ ... ha-ne-106000003#   This might be the same company but it has a different address.

    The people on the line identify themselves as West Asset Management, but they might be spoofing; it's hard to tell.   In any event, it strikes me as a company to stay away from.

    Message on machine. Not even sure it was for me, turned the volume all the way up and could only hear my last name being mangled. The part of the message I could hear said "Inspection Agency" and the extension listed has a letter, how would you use that?? No clue what this is about, other people listed student loans and while I have them I pay them the required payments every month.

    "Amber" has called a few times from this number asking to speak to a specific employee, claiming it's a 'business matter'. She supposedly is at extension 254. We blow these kinds of calls off, but it is annoying.

    Have put our numbers on the 'do not call list' several times over the past few years....has absolutely no effect on stopping 'junk' calls.

    My son received a call on his cell phone (which is one digit different than my number) asking for me in reference to his adult sister and indicated it was for a "reference" for her.  That's all he could get out of him other than this phone number.  I called back and got a different story - he was trying to get in contact with her.  I informed him that she had not lived under my roof for several years (true), had moved numerous times (true) and that I didn't know her address (true).  The moron kept asking me if I could contact her and have her call him back.  He also spoke like he had marbles in his mouth - he mumbled something awful and kept trying to talk over me when I was talking.
