888-888-1111

The message comes on my Rogers Cable TV on some channels asking to call 888-888-1111, instead of the real TV channel.  It is repeated few times.  Rogers Cable suggested to disconnect the digital box for 30 seconds and reboot it.  I did that few times but still the same message comes on few channels.  Calling the number all I get is a recorded story about 1111 or 9-11 and no one to call just the recorded message!!  Strangely, whoever jikacked Rogers System seem to be capable of defeating their security and more strange is that Rogers Cable of Toronto Canada are unable to believe that this message comes on the screen after rebooting their box already few times.

Rogers is throwing you a line.  There are aware that someone has hacked their system.

I got this one today. Thank god for Extreme Call Blocker; I have over a hundred spam, phish and robocall numbers blacklisted to date but sad that it's just a drop in the bucket and that I have to check the internet all the time to make sure I'm not missing a call that may be important. I also appreciate this site to reference.

got called from this number, called it back and the recording said, " Thank you for calling Political Connections, if you are Politically Conservative, press 1, if you are politically liberal, press 2, if you are neither press 3....."

WTF?

Calls occasionally, never leaves message, always evidence of a scammer telemarketer. Now blocked.

Called several times now impersonating an attorney.  Says his client is trying to serve me and wants to settle out of court by phone.  When I questioned his veracity he began screaming and hanged up.

Called from 1-888-888-1111. Left vm stating he was a legal advisor calling to inform me that I needed to call 1-866-985-7197, gave me a case # and said it was contact 1 of 2 and he was putting a 30 minute hold on my file. He said he wanted to avoid having legal documents hand delivered by me making immediate contact. Sounded like he was talking through a garbled radio. Used my first name. There’s no reason for this type of action against me.
