what kind of sick sad bitter person would attempt to scareor damage the hearing of someone just trying to do an honest job. You are probably the same kind of person who thinks everyone on welfare or a disability is just a bum.  What a sad loser - Get on teh do not call list or just hang up the phone. No one makes you talk to anyone.

    HCI, Inc.
Received a call from 888-900-1342 said they were from Verizon and that they "were not selling anything." Said that they wanted to review the account so that I could save money. I said, "I don't want to talk to you." I then hung up. Five minutes later got a call from the same person who said, "....did we get disconnected?" I said, "No, I ended the call." I said for her to send me anything she had to say in writing. She said, "there is no letter concerning that." I said, I don't want to talk to you. I am ending the call." Caller said, "when would be a better time to call?" I said, "there will be no better time, don't call me anymore, I don't want to talk to you." She said, "I'll call back at a better time," and hung up. [***]!

The caller claimed to be from Cincinnati Bell Telephone, and I told her I wasn't interested in her proposal to lower my phone bill.  I told her that her caller ID wasn't Cincinnati Bell, and then she told me that she works for a company who represents Cincinnati Bell and takes care of their advertising and promotions.

former telnet employee replies to ahicomputer
as a former employee they can actually save you money sometimes, but when they can most of the employees claim the bundle will include things you don't need so that they can up their own commissions. Ur bill still may end up lower but not as low as it could have been. Furthermore most of the employees don't have a firm enough grasp of math to adequately read your bill, ie SLC charges are federal taxes that they will often include in your "current bill" "before taxes" and then quote you a slightly lower rate that does not include SLC charges the result being that your bill goes up. Lastly no matter how good the deal or what they can propose they are signing you up for a 36 month contract, that's why verizon uses them (yes they are authorized agents) but if you were to go to verizon and ask for their promotions claim you were thinking of switching to cable, they can offer you an even better deal. (the same way you get a cell phone free when you sign up for service) Any questions you may have feel free to drop me a line at hereisthebestnameever@yahoo.com i'd be happy to enlighten you

Some idiot called called from 888-900-1342, and i found this page on Google.  It took him FOREVER to 'pull up my account'.  As he was asking me questions about how many lines I had etc.  I found this page.  I asked him what company he was from, he said "Telenet", I said, "I'm not interested" and hung up.

I have been receving calls from this number for a couple weeks now.  This last guy said he was with Qwest, Qwest signs his paycheck.  It's annoying how many times they call!! Some days I string them along...  letting them think they'll get a big sale out of me.  Never gonna happen!!

I am a new employee of telnet and we record all transactions that take place and have a quality control department that closely monitors these calls to make sure that nothing unethical is happening during the sales transactions.  In fact the effort in this regard has been intense and the company is taking these complaints very seriously.
Regretfully it is true in any organization there will be employees who violate policy but they are dealt with in an appropriate fashion.  The leadership team at Telnet is extremely dedicated to making sure that all interactions with customers are ethical and present a legit value to the end user.
Any feedback on the behavior of the sales reps is certainly appreciated and welcome.

I briefly worked for Telnet when I was in between more skilled jobs, and can say for a fact that Telnet iis noot a scam. By and large, it is a group of good people trying to make an honest living. All sales are recorded and verified by a third pparty, so there is no slamming. Additionally, employees are required to say that they are calling oon behalf of Verizon, Cincinnati Bell, OneComm, etc. They absolutely can  not sswitch you without yoour consent.  People have been fired for getting cute .  Also, since they are calling from an automatic dialer occasionallly the same number will be called before it can be added to the DNC list and removed.  There is no malicious intent, just a shortcoming in logistics. Sometimes they can save yoou money and sometimes not, but they are certainly not trying to scam anyone.

If these calls are so annoying, why do yoou want to waste your time and string soomeone along?  Seems pretty counter intuitive.  If you let someone think that they have a chance at a sale, of coourse they are gpoing to keep calling you.

I am a business owner that uses Verizon services and spoke to someone from TelNet several months ago.  They were able to save me a substantial amount of money on my Verizon bill and did put me through a third party verification to ensure that I was not being slammed.  My service with Verizon is exactly the same.  I still receive a bill from them with no additional third party charges (which show up as "on behalf of" charges) and they saved me money.
