I also received a call from someone from Citizens regarding fraudulent charges on my card.....they gave me this 888 # to call, and I checked with Citizens Bank directly, and that is the Card Risk Prevention #.  It is a legit Citizens Bank #.

This is a valid number from Citizens. I made a transaction in Florida and they called me within mins. Seemed a little suspect at first. I called the regular number I use and sure enough it is their Fraud division.

I received a call from this number and called them back.  It was Citizens Banks card risk prevention number.  There had been an attempt to charge $0.01 to my debit visa card.  Apparently this is something that they watch for and block.  People try to run random numbers at very low amounts to then attempt to steal a much larger amount.  I logged onto my online account as I was on the phone with them and the woman told me the line items heading which was "POB OPERATING P" and the amount.  That is exactly what was on the line items for Outstanding Authorizations and Funds on Hold.

received a call from this #; it was legit Citizens card risk/fraud. Had a charge for $20.01 from The Village at 7 pending.

Yep, can confirm this was legit.  I had a charge from Blizzard (for my World of Warcraft subscription) and they were checking because the card had $1 authorization charges in addition to the $14.99 monthly subscription charge (I had previously used a different card on the acct).  I'm glad they check this stuff!

Absolutely legitimate. I just called the office and I was a bit weary because I've faced some frauds and scams before, but on the phone the customer service representative was very helpful and had all the data on my transactions. From what was on my Authorisations on Hold to what did not show up on my transactions. The man was very helpful and had information such as what phone number would be best to call me and my home address. I'll be waiting to get my new debit card in 3-5 days as well! I'm glad Citizens is watching for all these things.

Confirmed scam/fraudulent phone call.  Caller claimed to be with Citizens Bank Fraud department and knew information about me.  I asked to call him back, he gave me 1-888-910-2500 to call back.  I then called Citizens Bank directly and they told me that the call back number is not one of theirs and that this is a scam.

The email and phone number supposedly from Citizens Bank fraud department is absolutely a scam.  They may have what looks like legitimate info like your full name, but the last 4 digits on account were incorrect and they hope you don’t notice.

I got a text from citizens Bank saying they denied a charge asking me if it was valid to reply Y or not valid reply N. They gave me the last 4 digits of a card# I don't own. I did reply N. I got a text back saying they would call me if it was between the hours of 8am and 9pm... Which it wasn't. Not sure if I should even bother calling that # back in the morning

Got text claiming to be from Citizens bank Fraud dept. asking about possible invalid charge. Answer Y or N to decline the  received call from this number claiming to be from Citizens Fraud dept and directly asked for my 16 digit card # to bring up my account.  Told them I would call the bank directly and they said "Ok . Thanks for banking with Citizens' Bank".. Weird Vibe. Guy sounded like he just did a hit of laughing gas.. Over friendly and a little goofy.
