"Allan Lewis" of "Rubin & Rosenthal" is the purported caller. I regularly receive these solicitation calls which are always from a blocked ID. The names of both the callers and the company name are fictitious. They pretend like it is a law firm calling you, as a scare tactic to get you to call back the toll-free phone number. Since my phone number is listed in the National Do Not Call Registry, they are obviously not pre-screening their phone lists prior to calling. Therefore, I submit a complaint for every single one of these calls.

Tracy Parks called me from Rubin & Rosenthal, but when I call back I get a voicemail that sounds like it's from a mobile phone saying "professional services".
Suffice to say I did not leave a message.

Tracy Parks called me from Rubin & Rosenthal for about the 15th time.  These people keep calling, lying with reasons for why they are calling, and then they harass you until you have to hang up on them.  I keep reporting this to the FCC but they don't do anything.  I'll keep trying while these people are allowed to continually break the law.  I have asked then told them to stop calling, but they keep calling anyway.

Allen Lewis for "Rubin and Resenthal" called for the 4th time (first 3 times he said he was it was from Professional Services) he asked for owner and said he MUST call back. I asked what it was in ref to and he said personal business. I asked if it was telemarketing (last time he called my employee couldn't think of the word telemarketer and shes a computer techie so she said, is this a SPAM call? He got irate and said "I am NOT meat in a can!!!" I swear that's a true story as stupid as it sounds. Today when I told him the owner will want to know what its in reference to, he called me a coward and said i am a debt collector and you are the owner and you are avoiding me. I asked what could the owner (which I am not) could owe him because the business is debt free. He went on another tangent and then hung up.

Heres an update to my complaint from yesterday. The owner called this Allen Lewis and asked what his reason for constantly calling and harassing his employees. He said," Oh, well I am a debt collector and I want you to hire me as your debt collector".  OMG!!! Is he serious!!!! The owner told him that his arrogance is not the way to solicit potential clients. So.....if you get calls from this number, they are trying to solicit your business as a debt collector on your behalf. Pathetic approach

Today I received a call from the Legal Dept. of Rubin & Rosenthal claiming they had been talking to me since January. The woman then proceeded to bad mouth my employee saying she wasn't doing everything she can to collect accounts for her and we need to hire them. When I questioned why I would hire a company that would bad mouth my employees she proceeded to hang up

I am receiving calls from both Allen Lewis and Tracy Parks. I own a small tutoring service and to date have not been in the office to take these calls. I appreciate the other postings that warned me of these people as they come across as a law firm although they did not state such specifically in their message. From other comments it seems I have no way of reporting them to stop these annoying calls and messages.

they are actually legit, they called me wanting me to pay 1600 dollars for a contract i let slip 4 months and when i called the company i signed the contract with, they then called the company and we 3 wayed the call so i could make sure it was legit, i spoke to Allen Lewis who is the supervisor and during the 3-way call the settlement ammount dropped to 706 dollars. Professional services is the main securtairy persay, and they have many offices accross the company they direct your call by name. but they really are a legit company the number that called my was -8008419858 which is the real office number from the website as well mabye the other 1888 number is a scam setup but my call from allen lewis was legit although a guy by the name of Mr. Bell was the origional caller and was very rude.  I have sent the first payment today i will update if i find out it is a scam  later this month when i pay the final

I did not receive a call, but did get a collection letter.  It was not letterhead stationery, but had the address Ruben & Rosenthal  10685-B Hazelhurst Dr #12905  Houston, TX 77043,  800-675-0799.  The letter was typically (for a bill collector) ominous, and stated that I “Must call for payment instructions.”  In another place it told me to ask for Mr Long for payment instructions.  It did state that “Any payments mailed could take up to 4 wks to process.”  Really???? They have a web site (rubenandrosenthal.com) which shows the same address & phone.  It is a template that they did not complete.  The “About Us” section still has the sample template text, complete with blanks for filling in. I called (8/9/12) and asked for “Mr. Long,” I was transferred to the “Legal Dept.” Finally I got “Legal Dept, this is Allen.”  He said he was “Mr. Long’s” boss. When I told him I wanted to pay the bill ($609) and could do so at $50/mo he stated the client hadn’t hired a financial institution, and that he needed the bill paid in full now.  I said I couldn’t, but I could make payments.  He stated they would file suit, and then I could have about $1500 in court costs, plus their fees, and that (I couldn’t understand the first few words he said) they might (something) my house, my car, my possessions. If I didn’t want that, it was up to me to find a way, take a loan, borrow from friends or family, or whatever.  He would give me til noon 8/10/12.  FYI, in most cases a consumer’s home, one vehicle and household furnishings will be exempted from collection or attachment.

I have to say this company has to be the worse collection company i have ever delt with. i had them go after 8 members who were behind on their memberships. every case was less than 6months old. in total about $1,500 was collect. the fee they are triing to get me pay is almost $1,300.. they talk to you like you a nothing. i was cursed at, hung up on and totally disrespected. i have to agree with most of the above comments. my members said they used different names, different companys and even called and harassed at their jobs numerous times a day. they too were called names, cursed at and hung up on by allen lewis and james roberts. i think they were both picked on when they were growing up. without being able to hide behind a phone they would probally wet their pants if they saw you face too face... boy do i wish texas was closer...

    Predators!
I have received 3 letters from Rueben & Rosenthal. Since the first letter I have received approximately 4 calls from the same, with about half of those being blocked or from an "unknown" number. After recieving the first letter I called the number at the top of the letter. I asked to speak with Mr. Long, referenced in the letter as the point of contact. I was told he was unavailable at the time. I don't recall the mans name whom I first spoke with, but asked him for information concerning the debt. After getting some information about the debt, I was able to determine that I was not responsible for the debt, but my ex wife in fact was. When I tried to explain the facts as I saw them. He excitedly, as if angry with me, said that I would be taken to court charged court costs and legal fees in addition to the debt, then he promptly hung up. I called back, and gave this gentlman the benefit of the doubt. I told him I thought we had been cut cut off and wanted to resolve this issue. His response was, " I'm not going to listen to your garbage, and just so you know this time I am hanging up on you". I called back again and asked to speak with that gentlmans supervisor. this time i was offered a deal to pay half the bill by the close of business. I tried to negotiate a payment plan but, the supervisor refused it. i told him i would think it over and call back before they closed to give him my answer. i made some phone calls to to the company who provided the service in question, and my insurance company to verify i was not responsible. I called Ruben & Rosenthal back to tell them that I would not pay this debt and again I was issued the same warning about legal fees and court costs. A third gentleman called me a little later that after noon to ask why I had appeared ready to cooperate and then suddenly became uncooperative. I explained everything thing to him very calmly, at that point he explained that he didn't have my hard file in front of him and wanted to review it and get back to me. I agreed, but never heard back from him again
Since that initial contact, made by me, I would like to add, I have received 2 more letters and 4 calls. Each call is the same. I am issued a warning that if I continue to be uncooperative, I will be taken to court. I spoke with an actual attorney and he told me it would be more costly for them to do so and they would be fighting a losing battle. In other words I am in the clear. They have nothing, but accusations and scare tactics. The last call I received from this company, predictably began the same with accusations and scare tactics. I calmly told the caller that if his company really wanted to take me to court they could, but I had spoken with an attorney and that I didn't think it would be worthwhile or in his companies best interest to do so.
I too contacted the Texas State Attorney General office to file a complaint. They mailed me a form to fill out and mail back. It's very easy, and you don't have to be a resident of Texas to file a complaint. Ruben & Rosenthal conduct their business there. That's all that matters! The more people that file complaints with this state agency the better for those who have fallen prey to this company.

Mr. Allen, yeah that's his name! He hung up on me twice! He announced he was hanging up on me the second time. Very unprofessional!
Don't be prey for Ruben & Rosenthal! Know your rights! You can make payments, good record keeping and documentation is the key. They would rather you pay the whole amount up front, but your not required to do so and no judge would make you do that if you were unable to.
Don't be bullied, don't be scared into doing something that would make your situation worse, just because they say that's what you have to do!

    Rubin, Rosenblatt and RUDE!!!
I spoke with mr bell who was rude originally but then came around and allowed me to pay monthly. Today I received a message from mr bell reminding me to make my payment. when i tried to call him back from thel number he called me from I got a girl named Michelle.  Apparently they use different numbers from your area so they can get u to pick up. This didn't seem legit to me especially when he called from a number he didn't have permission to use. I called the office with the 888 number I also have and spoke with mark a few times because he hung up on me. I also spoke with mr hall who was the same way. I agree with one if the others who posted on here... They must have been picked on in school and now have the guts to speak so rudely over the phone. I too asked if they were attorneys but they refused to answer and turned the questions back to me. Needless to say I did not make my payment today so will probably be summoned to court.  What comes around goes around so their day will come. Hopefully by the numerous complaints they receive they will be shut down.

I cannot believe the treatment I have recieved from this company.  I am going to file a complaint with the texas attorney's general.  these people have called my job numourous times a day, harrassing my assistant on a day that I was not there, called me and her names.  Called my dad and told him all the information in regards to my debt, identified themselves as attorneys.  They call from all different numbers and different names even though I believe its still the same rude person.  This is crazy, I offered them the original payment plan, he told me he didnt have time to waste and keep my file on his desk for that long.  I have asked them not to call my job anymore, and they still do.  I am sending them a cease contact letter today via certified mail.  I cant believe a company could stay in business and call people and harrass them, I called the original creditor and told them kind of people they have hired to collect their debts, they told me they are not gonna use them any more.  I think that a lot of us should get together and file a lawsuit against them.  The more people the better if anyone is interested EMAIL me - Jessicalgoss1982@gmail.com
