I received a message to call this law firm back that there was a legal suit against me. I called back and a Marshall Baker is who I spoke to. He was very rude and demanding, telling if I didn't pay him $3,000 dollars today I was being taken to court for almost $19,000. So I said to him, "Well have a great day and I'll see you in court." Then I hung up. Well, he called me 4 times after that in a row. Well, at the last call he told me to go f?ck myself and called me a b!tch [***] and a [***]. Well, I was sooo flabbergasted. I told him I had been recorded and I hung up and called him back on my cell phone and recorded him. I stated to him the names he called me and he said, "Yeah that's right and you're a big b!tch...." Sooo I can't wait for court. I would love to play the recordings to the judge.! This kind of law firm needs to be shut down.

I received multiple threatning phone calls thinking it was from a law firm.  Baker Edwards is not a law firm. Spoke with Marshall Baker. He is a rude con artist seeking to steal your money. Do not give them any of your personal information. It is a crime to pertend to be a law firm.

Received a voice message from Marshall Bakerwho said he was Senior Partner of the Firm of Baker and Edwards about a pending lawsuit in our County.  He stated that it was very important that he speak with me and requested I call him at 888-996-9908 and left a case # to refer to.

Please don't fall for the scam...They are just a bunch of backwards, white trash, that are working the scam out of their home...With little kids listening to every dirty word they are saying...Contact the Sunrise Florida, police Dept. Ask for the Detective Dept..The have the scam under investigation..

We have a client who hired Baker & Edwards to collect an unpaid debt for them.  Baker & Edwards collected the money from the debtor through a settlement agreement, but they kept all of the money for themselves.  Their contract contains a Florida venue provision, which is on the other side of the country from our law firm and our client, so filing suit would not be practical for our situation.  We did, however, file a formal complaint with the Florida Attorney General and our local State Attorney General, and we also filed a Better Business Bureau complaint against the company as well, all which is pending at this time.  IF you choose to file a complaint using BBB, you may note that they identified as "Baker & Edwards, Inc." AND "Baker and Edwards", and are currently graded at an "F".

After receiving our Attorney General Complaint, an individual is claiming to have just purchased this company, and that they do not know anything about this account, and that he has received numerous other similar complaints that he is trying to resolve.

Even if you give the alleged new owner the benefit of doubt, I would highly recommend that this company be avoided.

This post above is not 100% accurate.  I spoke to the alleged new owner of Baker & Edwards, Inc., at 1-888-996-9908 THS MORNING. FYI.

They are debt collectors and they use illegal practices to get people to pay a debt.  They solicit telemarketers as employees (just google the name or phone numbers and you will see) and have a contact person by the name of "Brad."  The company is owned by "Jimmy Grizzafi" as of May 2009, if that is his real name, and previously by a "Tonia King" and "Martin A. Another number associated with Baker & Edwards, Inc. is 954-749-2688.  If you are victimized by them you need to report it to the Florida Attorney General's Office and the Florida Office of Financial Regulations.  Be specific, if you have notes, memos, emails, etc - great - report them if they told you they were lawyers, threatened, cursed, harassed, etc.  That is against the law.  There are regulations that they have to follow.  Look it up on Florida State Statutes web site, FSS 559.72  Here is the link:  http://www.leg.state.fl.us/Statutes/index.cfm ... I knew you would surface again Jimmie, you scamming douche, scum always floats to the top. This is another one of his scams, just like his last scam, and the one before that. They say B & E stands for Baker & Edwards, but we should call it for what it is, Breaking & Entering!!! Be aware, AVOID B & E and life will be a little less stressful...

I was contacted by b&e to collect debt for my flooring co.  I have always been paid by my customers for 20 years with no problem but had just recently had a client decide not to pay the full amout owed $3268.00 for no reason and would not let me fix what ever it was that was wrong.  I arrived and finished ahead of time and did a beautiful job.  I agreed to hand over the debt to b&e.  Months went by with many phone calls and they said they collected $1000.00 and would not send 75% until they collected it all.  Finally they sent $750.00.  Now they seem to be M.I.A.  Sorry to here people being harassed.  I don't know what action to take with my client as they may have agreed on $1000.00 and not the full amount $3268.00 or b&e did collect $3268.00 and told me they only got $1000.00.. I regret hiring them and should have pursued other avenues.  Good luck out there!!

they called my father and sent him all kinds of stuff to help him get $8,100.00 that he has been owed for a few yrs by a guy that he did a contracting job for. my dad sent them money to go after this guy and now B&E have changed there numbers or there phones are just shut off and we have seen no money or gotten another call from them. We want our money back. This is not the time to be just giving money away. These ppl need to pay!!!!!

We used Baker and Edwards to collect on a client for us who owed us over 10K but wanted to settle for 3K. They SWORE they could get us the full amount at a 25% contingency. In June I got a call that they were still working on it. In July they closed down!

Turns out they settled for the 3K in MARCH and took the money and ran!

ALWAYS CALL the company you owe money to and ask them if that is their agency... and make sure you keep ANY proof that you paid them

was owed over $14,000, i only recieved $3,000. Was told
to call back in two weeks. I kept a log book of every time i called,
and was told the same thing EVERY TIME,were working on it,or
we have an investigator on it.called today 8/3/09. to my dismay
found that none of the numbers that i had worked.
This is how i came to this page. My question if you can
answer, how do i find out if this was sent to another
attorney?  Where do i go from here? Should i attempt to
hire another attorney? we are talking going 2 years to collect

I was informed that they Baker & Edwards have moved on to Georgia, under
another alias. Let's not let anyone else become a victim. They posed as an

Is there really anything that can be done to get the money and or the perpetrators, or is this another get away with fraud issue?
Unfortunately we have also been had by Baker & Edwards for $2652.  Our customer that was extremely slow in paying us a balance of $2652 accepted the immediate settlement offer of $2000 given by Baker & Edwards. Payment was made to Baker & Edwards on January 2009......needless to say after making repeated phone calls and promises of payment.....we have never received any money from Baker & Edwards.  Names affiliated with Baker & Edwards....Mike Terino, Sales Representative, Marshal Baker - For The Firm, Robin Adams - the lady that promised us to be paid (prior to her going out on maternity leave) Rick Turner - the "gatekeeper" for Ed Bailey who is supposedly the "check making guy"   These are names I will never forget and I feel bad for the innocent people who have the same names!  I have been frustrated and appalled about this since January 8, 2009 mainly due to the fact that being in business for over 25 years and NEVER having to use a collection agency and the one time I did, I was scammed.  Well at least our customer saved themselves $652 out of this transaction, it is just sad that their money never went to the intended party.  I have closure now....it is very apparent I was scammed!
