Appearently my corporate world headquarters is moving according to Brenda...and she has just the vacant land for us. LOL!!! I enjoy getting these people off their script. Try it, its fun to hear them stumble and stammer over a question that they are not pre-scripted to answer. Scammers...   they are fun to play with.

I keep receiving calls from this Number  889 777 1117, they stated that they wee calling from the State of California Labor Department, then she proceeded to ask if our business was moving and when, I've told her that I did not believe that she was calling from the State of California Labor Dept, then she hang up.
I am tired of this phone calls they call at least 3 times per day

They kept calling me and I finally told them that there were numerous complaints about 889-777-1117 on the internet and I would also be filing a complaint - she hung up on me.

Some guy with a thick Mexican accent called from the Washington Business Development blah blah blah and asked if we have planned on moving or have moved yet. I asked him when was the last time we were contacted and he said "last week." I asked for his number to have the owners call back (as per our policy) and he gave me the number of a business across town that is completely not related to this phony.

Plus, I could barely understand this guy with his thick accent, probably an illegal...

Same thing.  Two calls in a row.  1st one a woman wanting to "update records"---she claimed to work for the Texas Business Development Office.  Next one followed almost immediately.  This time a man who claimed to work for Shermack Design.  Ha!!  Same number both times. Happens a lot, I'll start noting the numbers from now on.  What do they want...?  Big waste of my time!

Illinois development office.  Asked me if this was my address and i said yes and they asked when we were planning on moving.  I said we were not planning on moving and then i said i don't understand why they were asking me why and who did they hear we were moving from and they hung up.  It is really starting to get me ticked off with all of the crap

just got a call from an hispanic female from the 'state business development office' and wanted to know how our move went, as a follow-up.. ??whoa, you are calling me? [my state is so bankrupt, that would be about impossible] I said, from what state? she says "eeeerr Illinois" , yeah right, I asked where are you located? then she gave me my small town's name! so i said exactly where are you? and she hung up. Sounds like they are doing this scam in USA and Canada! Amazing how this and another recent caller restort to just outright lying to get info, I guess no surprise, but I feel for the off-guard business owner that forks over their business info to these crooks.... p.s. the carriers CAN and SHOULD do a much better job of immediately stopping caller-id spoofing ...if congress would pressure them. I know in this state, with the major carriers, ISDN/PRI circuit programming will no longer allow non-assigned numbers to go out [the typical way scammers slug in a bogus number] and putting in 800 numbers is now being checked too, but I think most states don't enforce this federal law...would be nice to see actual billing number on all caller-ids or legit 800 number!

I can't believe this information hunters, the more information you give them the stronger they get.

They called me and i hung up on them and the darling gentelman called back and said " your a b**** eh" about 4 times.  when i tried to call back the number was unreachable.

I've gotten multiple calls from this number.  It was always the same voice with the easily identifiable accent. They say they are from the State of PA or the City of ... and that they are going to update our business profile.  I ask for what publication and they repeat the State of PA or the City of ... and quickly ask the next question. She made every attempt to make me believe that it was a government office without saying its a government office.  They ask if we're still moving, how many people and when. I repeat my questions and ask whats their website or their phone number.  One call she said they dont have a website.  Then she told me of another website but it ended with .com so its not a government site.  When I pointed this out she said God Bless and hung up.  The next call I asked for a phone number and she actually gave me the phone number to movie information!  

Today I received a call from a different voice with the number display of just 3 digits (215).  She stated she was with Schramick Designs in Philly.  Reportedly they do office and computer design.  I told her we had that taken care of.  She asked again if I was moving before a specific date.  When I asked her to repeat the company she's with she said Schermack Designs.  She asked similar questions saying that she was going to send me information and wanted to be sure if we were going to still be at the same address at the end of next month.  I ask if she really thougth it took a month for deliveries to be made from the Philly area.  She again repeats the same thing.  I told her go ahead a send it. If i'm not there it will be forwarded.  

I think these were two different companies calling but using the same tactics.

I've heard these may be folks that are in Lead Sharing groups.  They mine information about business activities and then try to sell it to businesses.  So information about a business relocation may be sold to carpet installers, interior designers, movers, furniture vendors, etc.

This number called 2x during lunch time today. I picked up the second call.
Similar script to the others reported. Claiming to be calling from the state economic development office. They began to ask questions. They hung up when I asked for their state employee ID number.

these guys call my office i would say monthly, saying they are with the "Alberta Economic Business Review".  They seem to be under the impression that the owner/president is answering the phone (instead of me, a blank) asking if we are in still in the process of looking for a new location.  Today i told them "im telling you the same thing ive told you every time you guys call, no one here is planning to move" they then hung up promptly.


i plan on messing with them next time.  just like my free cruise and my expired vehicle warranty.

A lady with a very thick accent and the sound of a call bank in the background called and said they were with the "Washington State Business Bureau". Started asking if we were still located at (insert our address here) and if we'd found a new place to yet. Then she asked when we planned on moving. I asked why she needed this information and she replied "We updating information." I informed her that I'd just looked up her caller ID number and knew it was a scam, and never to call us again.

We get these sorts of calls all the time. So annoying.

Our company just received a call from 889-777-1117 and also asked when we were planning on moving our offices.  Our office is located in Calgary and they said that they were calling from the "City of Calgary Business Department".  I said I was not permitted to give that sort of information out and they asked who could.  When I told them there was noone who could help at this time he said "not to use that tone of voice with me.  I am from the City of Calgary Business Department".  I played along and said that if they could provide a number that someone with more authority could call back to I would have them return their call, they swore at me (charming) and hung up.

Indian speaking spammer asking if we are planning to move.  I wanted to mess with them but they hung up.  PUNKS let me find your location!   ARH!

I received a call from this number. They said they were with the California Business Developement Center. I told them, "not if you are calling from this area code". They said it was a toll free number. While he was on the phone I conferenced him in with a call back to that number which said," this number is out of service and there is no new number". He hung up.

caller with heavy indian accent posing as Peter Mayors from the Michigan Business Development Office - Economic Department wanted to confirm our small business office address (an out of date address). Really persistently wanted to know our new address. When I asked what their phone number was they said (800) 974-8493). When I asked who his supervisor was he said he WAS the manager. I placed him on hold and googled information. I resumed the call and told him he was lying and hung up. He called immediately and I said don't ever call this number again and hung up. He called a third time and I blind transferred him to the local police department.

Could not understand where she said they were calling from as she said it so fast and mumbled it, then asked if we were still at our current location and knew our address. When I said yes they asked if we had found a new location yet. When I said we are not looking for a new location, the call then went dead.

Scam call. Do NOT answer them with a "yes" or "no". They can and will use that recorded info to say that you agreed to pay for something. If you are going to answer, answer with full sentences without using those two words.
