I received a billing within my Quest bill for MCI for a directory asst. to 900-446-2900 This was on supposed to be called on a Sunday at 1:40 pm. Now I was home every Sunday in that time period and I did not call this. But also I received for the same date, same time, a bill for the same thing,  a directory assist with a number of 702-555-1212  This my Quest operator called and it was a disconnected number. out of order. This bill was from a company called ILD Teleservices. They did have a good number to call and they said they would remove it and send me my money back. They did not even question my saying I had not done it. So They must have gotten other calls. the whole thing came to $44.15 dollars. Thankful that the large part from ILd is willing to return the money but then it is not in my hands yet. Oh, also the number that was on the billing was always busy so I went on line and got their number for ILD so they are not on theu p and up either website or not. I will wait a week and re call if no check in the mail I am presistant too. Next stop the attrney general offices.

Glad I checked here. Just got a call a bit ago in that garbled, automated voice sound from "cvscaremark" supposedly. We do get RXs from them so called the 866-430-1819 number they gave. Then got a message there that said to have pen in hand and call 900-446-2909 and charge would be $1.99-also said "you must be 18". What the heck-no way was I calling number! Am now calling Verizon to be sure 900 numbers are blocked and also calling Caremark to inquire about this. If this is all cramming, scamming stuff, the person (s) need to be prosecuted!

Update to my entry above. First, that 900 number ended in 2900, not 2909. My mistake--should proof read. Second, I later realized, after contacting Caremark, that we had accidentally reversed the last two digits of the 866 number given in voice mail. The number to be called was 866-430-1891, which does in fact take one to Caremark, and the number we called accidentally was 430-1819, which weirdly went to the 900 scam number. Anyway, wanted to clarify above. Regardless, I called and had Verizon block any 900 and third-party calls from our home phone to be on safe side for the future.

Got my Verizon Bill with a $1.99 charge from MCI Worldcom for a phone call 900-446-2900.
Never called this number and it is not on my caller ID.  Called Verizon and was told they could not do anything about it - terrible service from Verizon.

i attempted to call a pharmacy at 866-496-3326 but dialed 800-496-3326 instead and got the recorded message to dial 9 to be connected to a 900 466 8900 at $1.99 per minute. I hung up as I knew the pharmacy didn't charge $1.99 per minute.  Looks like a scam to take advantage of someone misdialing.

Chase Mortgage should change ther name to "Cheat Mortgage". I called to get information about my mortgage and was told to call this 900 number and got the bill later.
Remember the good old days when you could call an 800 number and the customer service was good? Now we pay companies like Chase to take our calls and receive poor customer service to boot!
Some "suit" must have come up with this idea to justify his job!

I work at a local telecommunications company and was testing an 800 number for a customers service and got this recording to call 900-446-2900. So I hung up and called the customers 800# again and got their proper recording. It appears some company has set up this recording to be on common misdialed 800 numbers of other reputable companies. Kind of like how if you mistype facebook dot com in any way you're more than likely going to get redirected to some scammy site. It's pretty pathetic and sad what lenghts some people/companies will go to to get what you work hard for. These people are no better than someone how would break into your home, or the fake charities that pop up to steal money in times of need. I hope these people find their special spot that's being reserved in hell :)

I received my phone bill which included a $1.99 charge ($2.14 with taxes) for MCI directory assistance.  I never use directory assistance so I called Verizon (my tele company).  They stated that it may have been a call to an 800 number that was changed to a 900 number and that there is supposed to be a message stating that when you call.  At any rate, I didn't make the call and they removed it from my bill.

Same as the others mentioned here, received a 1.99 charge from MCI on my Verizon account for a 1900 call I never made. Called MCI with the 1800 number given on my bill, was told to call Verizon, who told me to call MCI. Pretty ridiculous.

    I mis-dialed Mohegun Sun's number by 1 digit and accidently dialed 888-228-7711 (I should have dialed 888-226-7711 ).

They made it sound like Mohegan Sun was having a promotion and giving away $200 gas vouchers and other items.  They needed a credit card number.....blah blah blah.  Dummy me gave them a credit card number.

I started asking more questions.  The women said her company was "Central Rewards" and their website was http://www.ultimatesavingsplus.com/

Things started to smell fishy, quick search on the Internet, realized it was a scam, told the women I was not interested and I was going to call the AG's office.

Called my credit card company and they said there was already a $1 verification for a magazine companybut the charge was not yet processed.

I then redialed 888-228-7711 from the same phone as I originally made the call from and I got a recording this time to dial 900-446-2900.

    BEWARE: Bunch of scam artists.

I've had two calls on my cell phone that directed me to this number.  The last one said it was from my employee benefits and wanted to talk to me about being a national advisor.  The originating phone number is 800-451-9701 and was told by Lisa to select option 2.  That's when I was directed to call the 900 number, which I didn't do.

I keep getting calls from 888 787-1969.....no message left, ever.  I finally decided to call the number; a recording stated to dial 900-446-2900 for more information.  Of course I didn't fall for this scam and I am reporting both these numbers as phishing and scamming
