I received the same call on my bill.  I DID NOT MAKE THIS CALL EITHER!!!!!

Say the call was made at 1:36 a.m. on Nov. 10.

Just ask who is the service provider of the 900number but not the company where the call was routed. MCI should know the service provider and dispute the call with the service provider. Do not blame MCI. Talk with the 900number service provider

Tried that, MCI claimed they provided the # but they do not have any additional information. It is an offshore call center will not even send you to a supervisor.

We had spyware/virus on our computer that was difficult to remove. The next month we got a bill for 34.95 from MCI for 1 min of WEB ACCESS. MCI could not tell us what company it was or what service they offered. The agent I spoke with refused to connect to a supervisor but said the charge should be removed in 10 days....waiting to see if it will happen.

we live on little kauai, the oldest island in the hawaiian chain.  upon recieveing my hawaiian telcom "HOME" bill, landline.  We had 2 of these charges. what is this number too?

900-990-2856 on the 11/01 for 1:24 1min and on the 11/05 9:54 1 min and another call first of dec 998-1430 all in the amounts of 34.95                phone service said they are sending back to mci so they can run an investgation. i sure hope this will take care of these numbers cause as the rest of everyone we are barely making ends meet

Same on my AT&T phone bill, everyone at MCI is clueless what the charge is for, this is nothing but a program, (SPAM), on your computer making a web call to a number and charging you $34.95 for absolutely providing no service to you, I would not be surprised if MCI is somehow complicit in this.

first fraud charges were from ILD, now just received mystery WEB ACCESS charges for $34.95 for 1 minute on Nov.12, 2007 when no one was home. The phone line this was charged to was for a computer only but had been physically disconnected on Nov.10, 2007 and changed to RoadRunner cable connection. Amazing that this phone cord plugged itself back in!!!!

Same problem here.  Got a charge of $34.95 plus tax for a 1 minute "web access" call to 900-990-2856 dated 10/25.  I also had a problem with a bad virus on my computer.  I contacted Verizon/MCI (are they merging?) and was able to get a free 900-call block on my phone.  I was then transferred to their fraud department, where I left a detailed message.

My advice?  Unless you like to call 900-numbers, get them blocked by your phone service.  And get a good anti-virus program for your computer.

I recieved my phone bill yesterday with 2 calls to this number and 2 calls to 900-990-0191 & 1 call to 900-990-0112. Total bill of 174.90.
I finally found out through MCI that the owner of these #'s is Champion Handicaping Co. & their # is 561-272-5667. I called this # and was transfered to their billing dept. and left a voice mail about 15 minutes ago. We will see what happens, MCI & CenturyTell both refused to remove these charges. My next step may be small claims court.

Our bill dated 12-1307 also had this $35  charge for a 900 call.

We use cable and not connected to dial up.
This must be one "happy ending" call and in only 1 minute.
New meaning to minute man. LOL
We are on Verizon and it was also billed via MCI.

It got us too! WEB ACCESS 900-990-2856 3 times in one day 11-12-07 on MCI but charged thru ATT since we just switched.
I'm calling MCI since that is what ATT said to do on there bill.

same details, same number, same illegal charges on my account.  I know I didn't make the call, I don't have a phone.  I badgered Verizon until they finally agreed to take it off, stipulating that I must call another number to have my 900 access blocked.  They said they'd issue me a "courtesy credit" and I laughed so hard at the cruel irony of that that I almost dropped my cell phone.  The henchmen at that number tried to charge me $10 for this service they were going to provide me and I refused to pay it.  So they said they'll try to give me a credit.
I think you cannot conclude other than that verizon and MCI are at best being willfully negligent about this criminal organization.  Is Verizon claiming that they can't figure out who this scam phone number belongs to?  Come on , they're the phone company.  Yet that's what they told me.

I also had the same charge on my bill. I also went to 125 St office and was verbally wronged by the rep their a Spanish gentleman, I wonder if this was the same person

received my bill from at&t today,same charge from mci $37.05 for a call i did not make,same run around from mci,7-10 days to clear the charge but i was offered no guarantee that it would be removed,i will be calling at&t tomorrow to block 900 calls!!

I just got my phone bill & had the same charges on it.I tried calling Verizon & whoever I needed to talk to, nut they said they wouldnot take the charges off because they are saying the # was dialed form my phone line.They actually told me it was a virus & to Google it.So here I am & I am very ticked off right now.I am calling the Attorney General.If they know it is a scam then they shouldn't be able to charge people,seems they have an interest in this.
