Got a call from this number this AM.  ID said Carty and Company.  I connected and then disconnected immediately.  I don't even let the answering machine get these calls if I am at the phone.  Answering machines don't dissuade them.  Just lets them know the number is functioning.   Google returns a site for Carty & Co.  I would not even go there.  Might make more trouble for you.

This sounds similar to a complaint I filed with Florida Department of Agriculture, Consumer Affairs.  Different company, same MO.  Call people on the DNC list, claim they can, and when that's disproved, they then claim you made prior contact on their website.  Then when you disprove that, they claim it was just a mistake.  This happens time and again.  So far, it seems to me the Do Not Call Lists are "sound and fury, signifying nothing".

As I have stated, I made a complaint about such a company as this seems.  Disproved the callers counter claims, and then nothing has happened.  My time and effort evidently wasted.  So much for helping our government help us.  I think it's time to yank the paychecks for all Do Not Call departments.  They work as well as the VA.

My position is that I WILL NOT buy anything from anyone who LIES to me.  Joe Brand of Carty & Company called my office and told my secretary that he was calling about an investment "that I was interested in".  He LIED.  I have no use for liars, not in my personal life and not in my business life.

This Co. has called many times in the past, but when I was at work so no message had ever been left but I am on vacation this week & answered their call. Got a call from Carty & Co this AM at 8:00. Stated they were looking for a specific person with my last name who served on a bank board!!  Told them they had the wrong number & please do not call again.
By reading these postings I now know it is a scam.

Got a call at 8:00 am.     Am on non call list.   Would not shut up when I told him I had an investment
banker and was not interested in his tax free health bonds.   Was very insistent so I just hung up on him

...and no money to invest on something that arrives from a cold caller looking to separate me from my hard earned savings. Legit company or not..

Received a call asking if I was interested in purchasing a muni bond paying 4.128 coupon. He was very courteous and explained the details of the bond. He was very professional and not pushy at all.  Since, I do invest in muni bonds, I appreciated his call and gave him an idea of the kinds of bonds, coupons rate, etc.  He said he would research and get back to me, if he could find what I was requesting.  Seemed very customer oriented.

Fully agree with you.  Except, they have always been very courteous to me.  This is the way they make  their living and I have no objections to the calls as long as they end the call when I say I am not interested.  And, they have always done this in the past.

Received call from Carty and Company.  Left message to call back to find out how to get a property tax refund, and avoid paying future taxes.  Total scam.

Further research shows Carty and Company executive doing time for securities fraud.

Caller was trying to get me to invest in some municipal bonds.  I told him I use a local investment adviser.

Caller knew my name and said he was calling about some tax free bonds from the university that I worked for.  When I asked him if he checked the DoNotCall list, he said he did not see my number on the list.  This is one of few calls I have ever received that appears to have been from a real company.  When I googled the name I found the company listed with a  Memphis, TN address and the same number that my CallerID gave me.

Wanted to sell bonds hospital investment group.  Name of person:  Doug Bannister

Received a call from someone wanting to speak with the owner, called him by name but it's not the name he uses so I knew it was someone that was either a scammer or sales call. I told him he wasn't available to which he responded "I'll try again later" so I asked for his name and phone number so he could call him back - he hung up on me.

So they're still at it, 8 years after the first complaint.  Makes you kind of wonder why so many people are so gullible.

The caller said he was from Carty Company and his name was Doug Danciger. He gave a different call back number from the number that came up on the call ID. The call back number was 1-800-636-0095. He called from 901-767-8940.

Called trying to sell tax-free bonds in Knoxville. Blocked.

They have called every day for the last week asking for different staff members. Most are not on staff here any longer. I got a second call and dug a little deeper. Asked if we were interested in Municipal Bonds.  Told him they called every day and we were not interested.  We are on the Do Not Call List as well.
