Your best bet is a Call Blocker.  Mine works teriffic.   The Do Not Call list won't help you.  It is just a list that is purchased by legitimate marketing companies for the purpose of knowing who is registered and does not wish to be called.  Many scammers and low lifes don't bother with the list and there's not much to stop them except the call blocker.

Being on the Do Not Call list won't stop these Rascals.  You should consider a Call Blocker.  The DNC Registry  does not block or filter calls.  It is just a list of numbers, of people,   who don't want to receive calls from Telemarketers. This Registry does not Immunize us from all callers or from those who don't care about honoring the list.   Ironically,  it does work.   Most of us notice only  those who call us with scams and BS.
Rarely does anyone notice or mention all of those Legitimate companies who honor our request and do NOT call us.

Xmas DAY these morons called!  Saturday evening 7:00 pm they called- its such harassment- been getting the calls for YEARS - they NEVER WILL stop unless I get a new number which I cannot since its my cell and business phone all in one.  I dont answer any numbers I dont know for the most part but recently meeting new people for netwrking I thought maybe its them calling so mistakenly I did answer!!  I cant even imagine what kind of training they go through- must be an application stating"

Get called from this number about once every two weeks, The message says "Card holder services".
When I followed through and talked to a representative and asked to be taken off their list, I explained that I was on the do not call list and would he take me off their list. The representative became very rude sating they were exempt from having to use the do not call list and that they would call whoever and whenever they wanted. He than hung up on me.
My best guess is that they are trying to get credit card info for to be able to commit fraud

Called private cell phone @ 12:11p CST on Dec 28, 2012.  No message left.  If history is any indication, it's the same company who pretends to be your credit card company.  Since I'm not an idiot, I just hang up on them and never give them a chance to offer anything.  Credit card companies don't call you, but even more-so don't call you on a number you never gave them. :)

call blocker will not help you they call from a different number every time and it's called spoofing

This number called one of our cell phones for the second or third time in two weeks; the fact that the area code is in Florida would have had me suspicious to begin with, but the listing here confirms (for me) what I'd already expected.  This will be one more to add to the "do not answer" list.  I'll be shopping for new cell service very soon, and if I can get it, I want a service provider that lets me block calls from a long list of specific numbers; optimally, I would want them to get a recorded response that says "your call cannot be completed as dialed".

File a complaint with that number to the FCC website. That worked for me.

Got a call from Tiffany at Cardholder Services at 12:28PM on December 29. Looking back through the posts on this forum, this same number called me on December 13!  I reported it to DoNotCall then and will report it again.

Tried calling back immediately to see if there was a menu option available to remove me from their calling list. Got a Verizon recording stating number had been either changed or disconnected!! Have been receiving daily for over a week

I always tell them this is my new phone number so write it down, the I give them the local police number   no more calls hemmmm

Answer 'yes' to the solicitation. Keep the solicitor on the phone long enough to let them think you're interested. Then, because you're so interested in their offer, ask them for their number just in case you're disconnected. These monkeys are stupid enough to give you a valid number. Then, just keep calling that number back.

Nothing gets done when you report them.  I've been receiving calls on all 3 phones for over a year and 2 of those are cell phones.  THey keep changing numbers.  I started blocking the numbers so for awhile I don't get the annoying ringing.  I don't answer anymore if it's an out of state number. If it's important they will leave a message and they never do.  We stopped going to the door too.  We have a "no solicitation" sign but since most of the solicitors can't read, we stopped going to the door.  If they come after dark we call the Sheriff and let them check out licenses which they have to have to go door to door.  I called the FTC and the Attorney General in our state.  "Account Services" is supposedly being investigated but they think they may be operating from out of the country.

904-425-5642  scam call just received. As a result of receiving so many of these calls, I don't answer any number I don't recognize as someone I know.  I'm glad there are service like THIS one online to check what they are about, however.

I listened to the recording letting me know that I "should consider this my last notification" to take advantage of their offer to lower my interest rates.  I press the key to speak to a live operator. The representative answers with the same script every time: "Do you want to lower the interest rate on your credit card?"  I said, "No, I would like to be removed from your call list."  The representative disconnected before I could finish the sentence.

Have been receiving calls from this number for over a year.  There is an additional number, out of Washington, D.C. and a third number (can't recall the State).  Am on DNC list.  Same thing happens.  I connect, they answer, I ask to be removed, they disconnect call.

If you are receiving these calls on your Android phone, you can download a free application called Block'em.  I am not sure it this is available on iPhone.  It works great.  I block the number and the next time they try to call, my phone automatically hangs up on them!  I too tried to ask to be taken off the calling list and was hung up on.  I figure an eye for an eye!  ha!
