I guess I'll say it before the 'pay yer debts' shills show up. Usually we defend people around here, not you. All you have to do is (a) make sure it's a real debt collector, and not a fake from some 3rd world country. (b) Ask for proof of debt to be sent to you by US Mail (not fax, text, email, or voicemail) (c) Make arrangements to work it out, if it is indeed a real & valid debt. (d) Lose the entitlement attitude.

I use to get that every day. Even after telling them I lost my job, and am living in change, they ask if I can still make a payment! Do what I did, go in any account you have and with them and change your number. Haven't heard from them since!

I got this calll at dinnertime, on a Sunday, no less, and when I answered, the woman on the line said, wow, you answered. then hung up. Now, when I googled the number, this website shows who the number belongs to, but I can't believe that people would do this on a Sunday!

I agree. I spoke to them and explained that I am in the process of filing bankrupcy and they still call me 4-5 times a day. According to the fair debt collection act they can call if they can't reach you, but this is crazy.

This caller or the Bank are absolutely crazy.  I just curse them out when they call because none of my accounts are in collection.  They call 60 times a day starting from 6am in the morning to midnight.  I plan to put a vacuum cleaner on the mouthpiece next time they call.  I'm also investigating source of the call so that I can file a massive lawsuit.

117 calls in 3 days. Being 1st party they do not have to abide by fair credit collections however they do have to abide by the wire and telephone rules. I have filed a complaint with the fcc for harassment

they can call until the cows come home,i do not answer.  I suggest you call Comcast or Verizon  and you can block their
numbers  let them waste their time.  I am 82 yrs.old and who caes.

This is Comenity Bank, which holds the cc accounts for *many* companies, like Catherines, Bryane Home, Lane Bryant, and many others.

They are ruthless and heartless - they somehow got my home business phone and call it multiple times per day ON MY MOTHER'S ACCOUNT - not even my debt! I have explained that she is in a nursing home and unable to pay - instead of writing it off, they want me, as her POA, to pay the bill.  I don't think they understand how nursing homes work.  If you have no assets, you end up on Medicaid, and then the nursing home sets up a "patient pay" amount, which usually ends up being every penny you get from Social Security - so there IS  no money with which to pay these bills.

I keep telling them to stop calling me - I am not responsible for the bill personally, I am only the POA, responsible for seeing that her finances are managed appropriately.  That does not mean I am going to be held responsible for paying her bills out of my own pocket! I have explained to them that there is no money to pay the bill, and they get snappy with me and tell me they'll just mark it down as refusal to pay.  So now I just block their calls.  They keep calling with different numbers - I just keep blocking.  I would pay them in full if my mother's income allowed it, but it doesn't.

I get 5 to 10 calls a day, on various numbers from COMENITY. My only credit card is from a local bank and paid on time. Jail is too good for them. I block or forward every number from COMENITY. I am downloading my call list and I am considering contacting a lawyer.
