Called and left no message on my answering machine.  I added the area code/phone number to my blocked caller list.

Do yourselves a favor folks and get a call blocker.  Sell a kidney and/or first-born if you must. :-)   I used money that I might have otherwise contributed to annoying political parties and charities.  After the constant calls, I decided to put the money to better use.  The resulting absence of annoying calls is worth it.

I just let the answering machine pick up..no message is ever left from all those parasites....and then...I delete, delete, and delete.

Calls 2-3 times daily for the past week.  They hang up after 3 or 4 rings. I will not answer the phone to these annoying telemarketers.

We are receiving 2-3 ring phone calls any where from 2-3 times per day and at any time during the day.
IF we do answer there is no reply and we do wait on the phone,, they will hangup.
The id caller shows, MOD with 2 different numbers one is `1-914-294-2520 and 1-914-294-2421.
"                  "      Healthy Babies with two different numbers as well one is 1-914-294- 2468 and 1-9`4-294-2508.
This has been ongoing since the beginning of May and we have counted  10 phone calls since May 17th.    These calls seem to be coming from one location.  I tried to pinpoint the numbers and they indicate Westchester, NY.
We are concerned that there is phishing going on for the wrong reasons.
This needs to be addressed and stopped. There cannot be a good reason for these phone calls to be allowed.             Chris and Kathy Leone

They wanted me to send out envelopes to collect money for March of Dimes.  Even after I said no, he answered that he would send out the kit to me, after which I said NO and hung up. I have my charities that I donate to and do not trust all these calls. I am on a no call list, but it doesn't seem to matter.  I have not give to MOD in the past so why call me!  Some of the calls say MOD on my phone and others say Healthy Babies which is very very close to the name of a company I used to work for. ???

So what brings you to 800Notes?      Just happen to stumble on these posts or were you harassed by the same number yourself.    There are too many shills out there getting paid to post BS stories like yours to make your story believable.

Think twice before donating to the March of Dimes.   First off, their Charity Navigator rating is only two stars (I never donate to a charity with less than four stars,) but it's worse than that.   Their financial rating is only ONE star--the rating of where the money goes.

The March of Dimes reported to the New York attorney general in 2011 that their most expensive fundraiser was the professional telemarketing firm  Infocision of Akron Ohio.

Infocision has quite a reputation.  Here's a story Bloomberg News ran on Infocision in September of 2012 titled:

"Charities Deceive Donors Unaware Money Goes to a Telemarketer
By David Evans - Sep 12, 2012 12:00 AM ET
    Bloomberg Markets Magazine"

    http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-09-12/char ... lemarketer.html

In fact Infocision is  so notorious that a law firm,  Parker Waichman LLP, is offering  to evaluate your case if you feel you have been ripped off by their deceptive practices.   Their article at Yourlawyer.com pretty much explains the entire scam, including the "sending envelopes to your friends " part.:

NPR also did a story on Infocision  in September of 2012: "When Telemarketers Pocket Money Meant For Charity
    by NPR STAFF
    September 12, 2012 9:37 AM"

The story gives a little more insight into Infocison's  funny business.

There's tons more.    Just google  "March of Dimes" and "Infocision" for much more on what's really going on with companies like Infocision and major charities.

Unfortunately, this March of Dimes isn't the one your mother donated to way back when.   If you really want to help kids, you may want to look elsewhere.

All telemarketers should be taken out and shot, and the carcasses fed to coyotes.  I want to be left alone. I deal with nasty, rotten, mean legal clients all day long. I don't want to have to deal with it at home.  I unplugged my phone and answering machine. I get calls weekly for the person who had my number before me from collection agencies. I won't pay to have it changed again, so I will do without.

What have you got against coyotes that you would want to poison them by feeding them toxic drug-laced telescammers? They should simply be incinerated.

You are so correct about American attitudes in most causes.  In my younger days I was a telemarketer, very hard job to do, then I was accountant for Market Research firm and the callers said the same thing.  People just don't want to be disrupted from their schedules.  So just don't answer the phone..  The calls I have gotten from MOD of babihealth have all been hangups even if I answer on the second ring so I can see the anger from people that this happens to, I will just stop answering and ignore.

My caller ID said Yonkers NY.  As far as I'm concerned you could wipe that city right off the face of the earth.  I am so sick of their phone calls.  I never answer but it's so irritating to be in the middle of something and have the phone ring from an unsolicited call.  They never leave a message so you don't know who's calling and if I don't know, I don't answer.  Enough!!  Get them to stop!!
