They must have a scam set up if you call them back

The name of the company is education direct. They are out of new york. When you call the number press 2 to talk to a CSR and they will remove you.

Apparently their website says this:

"If you have received a call from Education Ready it was a follow up call to a request previously made by you to receive information about continuing your education. We are a matching career educational service that helps you determine which School, Degree field and / or Career path is right for you. We can also help guide you through the process of obtaining Grants and Scholarships to help pay for your education."

Really? What a great way to confirm your number! Scammers don't remove your number like this nice try.

got a call from this number on my cell, I answered  they never said a word I could hear them on the other end, no clue as to who this is.

They called me twice today, woke me up at 8am and 9pm (was not happy about EITHER!) I answered to nothing but static. Called back at 8am, got nothing. Called back at 9pm and they ask you to input your number to be removed from their list and it will take 48 hours to do so. They say they are from Education.net.

I also have received a string of telemarketing calls the last few days - a problem I have NEVER had to deal with on my cell phone and I've had this number for 4 years. I am on the DNC registry and my number is not listed anywhere. Very annoying.

I have been called by them 3 times today, Tampa FL here. I selected to be removed from their call list, takes up to 48 hours supposedly. its annoying though, specially when it hangs up when you answer! thats just rude

How to stop their calls:
Call them back, press 1, then enter your number when prompted, BUT DO NOT PRESS POUND when finished, wait for them to ask correct/incorrect.

Same to me today. was at work and if i don't know the number, i don't pick up. just got the cell with a new number too.

called several times in the past  couple days. they do not leave message.

Telling them to put you on their do not call list does NOT work.They have done the same thing to me, where they call and hang up, and do this several times a day,regardless of what time it is.IT is very annoying and irritating, to the point of being harrassing. I added my number to their do not call list one and two months ago.They waited maybe a week, and then started calling again. I even spoke to a live person and it made no difference.I plan to contact the attorney general on this, because I am sick of it. They always show up on my caller ID as Education Await. Oh, and even when I called and talked to a live person and told them to remove me, they just hung up on me.Everybody that's being harrassed by them needs to report them to their attorney general or consumer protection, and get rid of them for good! They need fined and SUED!!
