- ChadHad these guys on the line for 19 minutes. Loved every minute of it because I knew it was a scam. I kept leading them on and on, but when it came down to giving them remote access, I said No Thanks. They were furious that I wasted their time (their words) and hung up. I figured if I could keep them on the line as long as possible, it would keep someone else from having to deal with them.
- RyanGot a call at home today from this number. The call came up as Carl Lewis and the lady had a strong accent she told me that I had a computer problem and that she was with windows support for the issues I was having connecting to their server. I asked her to tell me my IP address, but she could not. I told her she was lying and then she hung up.

- Jacki_dI've received 3 calls from this number in the last 24 hours. Haven't answered, tried calling back and it just rings. I know it's a scam and next time they call they WONT like me.
- SubliminatorSame call as others have documented here. Claimed to be from Microsoft, "we have your license number"
(which was never provided when it was requested), yada, yada, etc. The caller did give me a "help desk"number: 702 583 5515. Poor quality, Indian accent. Second call from this kind of hacker trash. Calls from 702 number want $184.99 on a credit card to "investigate".- Caller: "Microsoft"
- Call type: Telemarketer
- ChristieGot a call saying certified Microsoft technician, very thick Indian accent and very noisy in background. Said he could tell my computer was downloading bad files. I asked him what IP address he showed. He spouted off something similar to an IP address but it was incomplete. I think he got frustrated from my questioning and bad connection, and finally hung up on me.
- LindaJeanI just got a call from this Carl person too. They did not respond when I answered - they didn't even respond when I called them back. I just love these guys that claim they are a tech at Microsoft.
I told one, a few months ago, that everyone knows who they are and what they are trying to do (get onto people's computers to steal personal information). He got incensed and told me that everyone DOES NOT know what they are doing but when I told him I have a Mac computer - (knowing their trick doesn't work on Mac's) - he immediately hung up. Surrrre we don't know what they are up to..... - Donald Duck| 1 replyI just got a call from this number. A man with an African accent picked up and said his name, which I do not remember. My caller I.D. said Carl Lewis. I said: My caller I D. said Carl Lewis, who is this Carl Lewis. This man said "Um, ma'am we have been having that problem a lot lately. Ma'am, I am calling because we can help you with your internet issues...."
I hung up.
This is a phone scam. They are trying to get people to allow them to control your computer over the phone. They will try, then, to empty all your bank accounts. Do not talk to these people.

Just like Homey, Donald Duck don't play that. - Jesse replies to Donald DuckSame thing Here, received the call from 914-345-8002, A man with Indian accent giving me the same story about Microsoft Tech Support and said My computer was registering a problem with Microsoft. Hang up on these CROOKS.
- DebMale caller with heavy accent, claiming to be a computer tech, with whom I had previously spoken. Our caller ID displayed "Carl Lewis" with 903-345-8002 number. We were on the "Do Not Call" list but that doesn't stop criminals. Finally got an unlisted number, which immediately eliminated ALL unwanted calls for several months. But, this has been the second such call we've received during the last month. I suspect that, despite our caution in not using our unlisted number online, on any forms, etc & sharing it ONLY w/select friends & family, that our unlisted number has somehow been acquired.
- Caller: "Carl Lewis"
- Call type: Prank
- ken robertsthis is a phishing scam - represent that they work for microsoft and just want access to your PC or laptop
- MarthaI just received a call from this number on Saturday evening at 5:30pm. I didn't answer and they did not leave a message.
- DJD| 1 replySame type of call just received. Idiot couldn't even speak English! We are on the Do Not Call list, but let's face it that list is useless. Scum bags
- Caller: Claimed it was Microsoft
- Slim replies to DJD>> We are on the Do Not Call list, but let's face it that list is useless. <<
Short educational post, suitable for people with short attention spans:
The DNC list is not a magic switch attached to your phone line, that will block calls.
The DNC list is intended to help stop calls originating from legitimate telemarketers.
* Your calls were not from legitimate telemarketers.
* Therefore, the DNC list will not stop those calls.

The DNC list does not automatically block calls. Instead, it provides a list of "do not call" phone numbers to legitimate, registered telemarketers who pay a fee for the list.
The DNC list exempts political callers, survey organizations, charities, and companies with preexisting business relationships, as well as debt collectors, but these organizations might have their own, internal Do Not Call list (ask them).
The DNC list is not effective against criminals, spammers and scammers, because those people do not subscribe to the DNC list, and do not care if you are on or off that list.
Its purpose is to stop calls from legitimate telemarketers, and it does a pretty good job at that. Just think ... if there were no DNC, you would be receiving incessant calls from BOTH legitimate and spamming telemarketers!

Remember, the FCC's Do Not Call site is a good one to report unwanted calls from LEGITIMATE telemarketers. To report spammers and scammers, visit the FTC site, at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/
If you receive calls even after reporting them (and waiting a sufficient time), then you should consider using a call blocker app, device or service as your first line of defense. Google "call blocker" to see such things at Amazon or other sites.
√ - Jeff R replies to ReneMicrosoft has a number of Easy Indian employees who have thick accents. They called me as well bit I now have a Mac after my motherboard died on my Hp.
- ShirlHad two calls today from 914-345-8002. First call listed as International Call, right.... Second call from same number listed as Carl Lewis. I answered. He had an East Indian accent, said his name was Eric. Insisted that he was with Windows Support and that there were several complaints about my computer sending garbage to a bunch of other people. I insisted his name did not match the caller ID and that he needed to tell his problems to someone else. I hung up.

- A PersonReceived call at 1:57 on 9/30 from a man with thick Indian accent. Number and name on caller id was 914-345-8002 Carl Lewis. Said he was with my technical department and that I had a security issue reported with my computer. Told him well that's funny since I don't have a computer - how is that possible? He kept trying to tell me that it was my computer. I kept telling him I don't own a computer, isn't my IP address [whatever numbers he was spouting] and isn't my provider [whatever he said]. Told him again I don't have a computer, I don't have internet, it couldn't be me. He then yelled at me that I was lying and that the security issue was going to cause me issues because it was allowing others to access my stuff, steal my money, use my IP for illegal purposes such as posting child porn. I must admit, at first I was really concerned and baffled, but as it went on, I realized that this had to be some kind of a scam.
I went over to a friend's house to use their computer to look this number up and after seeing the things posted here decided to report the call.- Caller: Carl Lewis
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Frank replies to V. ElginSame issue as previously reported. They still call even though I told him I use a Mac and not Windows. My tactic now is to tell them I will turn the computer on, and after 5 minutes or so with no response from me, they hang up.
- PatM replies to V. ElginGood luck with that! I repeatedly tell them I DO NOT have a PC with Microsoft. Still get calls from them, not always from same number.
