Total scam.  Nobody in the California Attorney General's office tried to contact you.  These are Indian scammer/extortionists, pretending to be members of US law enforcement.    They do have a lot of personal information which they buy from various sources.  They pick and choose their victims,  usually they like to pick on women, single mothers, the elderly and members of the immigrant community.  Ignore them.

A foreign man has called my cell phone over 20 times today for one of my employees.  I have told him over and over again to stop calling my number and that my employee cannot be reached at my number.  This is harassment!!  I want it to stop!!  What do I need to do??

This number is calling my work, pretending to be a law office. He would not give me his name or the company name and ended up hanging up on me.

This is a Scam call

I received abouti 30 phone calls today from this exact number 916-469-6343 stating they have a lawsuit on me and that they were going to read my affidavit rights and not to interupt him so i let him go on and he stated he was going to place me on hold to get the approval from the sheriff to resolve this issue. After the man with a heavy indian accent i asked what was the address he then when on and stated Sacramento and I then i went on repeating the question what is the physical address not the location and he said we will have the sheriffs and your job within the hour.

I received a call from this number stating i was being charged for check fraud and Debt Deception and that i have a warrant out for my arrest. He asked if I wanted to resolve this case or if he was going to call the police to arrest me from my job or my workplace. When I asked him what company was pressing charges against me, he hung up.

I am so happy  I saw this , they called me too! The same message about the sheriff office.

I thought it was a scam because it sure as heck sounded like one. This dude who sounds like a older indian guy said he was with the California State Attorney's office and that I had a law suit pending against me. He must have called 9 times in a row. This happened once before to me and I reported them and went no where. Total Scammers!

Don't be scared they are debt collectors trying to intimidate you. Im trying to find out who they work for.

Got the same call, he said he was from State attorney generals office, I asked him who the attorney general was? He couldn't pronounce her name but was close, they I asked what law school he went to, & he couldn't tell me. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha
What a joke!

They have been calling my cell and have now called my employer, asking people who I work with for my SSN#....He stated to my associate that they were sending a sheriff to my employer to pick me up.  My associate told him go right ahead, she also told him never to call here again...I am reporting this to my local police department.

He just called me the same way, thirty times back to back, when i listend to the vm, hes is saying the same thing. Saying he is having me arrested, so i answer the next call to let him know hevis  busted out the gate. It is against the law to comunicate any threat by a collector, or anyone for that matter, and told him to stop the calls, he then said to me, that he would continue to call me back to say want he wants and call all the way down to get me.... then he said he was gonna get me,,, now is this what we can expext from our country? Please tell me why in this country,, this is STILL going on? What a sad time we live in!! Thank you oh great government!!! Keep em comming and dont weed out the fraud population! Oh no let all the bad ones stay and continue to take advanage of those who fall for it, letvem keep threats up, let talk and blow up our phones and treat us like dogs!

This is about enough! Somone needs to put a stop to these  people. What good does reporting them do? They still made threats stating they were coming to "get" me! Wow! What a great country i live in!! I have a saved vm,, so when i get that out then maybe we will no longer have this type of crap in our lives

Please tell us why you're fixated on blaming American "country" and "government" for a runaway problem created and managed by organized crime gangs in South Asia. I don't know how much enforcement of federal law you "expext" from across an ocean against crooks who enjoy the shelter of a place too corrupt and poor to take cross-border fraud seriously.

As already discussed in this thread, your callers are very likely tucked away where you can't sue them for FDCPA violations, which is the proper consumer response to their ugly threats. If you don't complain to regulators, it will be as though the abuse never happened, or it's not bad enough to concern anyone. Just maybe these thugs will have a front end in US territory which *can* be targeted in court. If you do nothing, than nothing is what you'll get for sure.

It's hard to believed that is scam. Hope in god that this is so truth. Because I am so scared. If you tell me where I can call to make something to stop this call please.
