Someone from this number called me over 30 times in a row this morning at work.  They would call and as soon as I would either hang up or they got disconnected they would call right back (like they were calling again before they even hung up).  This is a scam call from some Indian guy saying that he is from the Attorney General's office and that there is a lawsuit on your name and that you owe money and if you don't pay you will be sorry.  Just ignore or block the call and if you want call the ftc or your local police (or whoever you report these things to) to complain.

I called these idiots back and they said they were sending someone to arrest me. They were horiibly rude, and I"m freaked out b/c these people have my work # (employer name too), cell #, my home address AND MY SOCIAL SECURITY #!  Please, someone tell me this is ALL A SCAM, they sounded like they were from IRAQ or IRAN and I live in texas, why would someone in Sacremento California Attorney General's office need to contact me.

    Should I be worried?

Scared? Why? Asia - that's were your call is coming from. You've been called by a foreign 3rd world scamming criminal extortionist, using a computer, high speed internet, voip & a few dollars in caller ID software. What are they going to do? Take the next bus from Asia? Rest stops are all damp & they insist on playing 'The Poseidon Adventure" as the in-bus movie. Plkus you have to transfer at the Dry Tortugas.

No, you're not. People "scared for their lives" run to the police, not a mystery call website. Thugs who work for fake debt collectors pose as trembling victims to model the behavior they prefer from their call recipients.

Much as these criminals preach otherwise, a defaulted payday loan *IS NOT* ever considered "check fraud" by the courts. A PDL is *always* consumer credit. Consumer debt in America is *not* a criminal matter. Collectors do not need and cannot whistle up anyone with a badge and a gun to get themselves paid. Real law enforcers have trouble enough catching people who threaten lives and public safety, and they don't want another job chasing unproven penny-ante debts.

Never let bullies on the phone confuse extortion with debt collection. Honest debt collectors do not typically send their claims straight to a judge, and they don't take your ransom money to broker quick deals with so-called "process servers". There are no secretive "arbitrators", "assessment specialists", "detectives", "investigators", "mediators", or "prelitigation specialists". They are sweaty double-talking criminals with a script full of coercive remarks. Lawful debt collection is a process, not an ambush, and you are due a chance at each stage to raise a dispute. The agents' horrid threats are empty and their conduct is illegal. Do not reward lawbreakers with your money. Challenge them always, sue them if you can.

Horribly angry man called the business phone looking for an employee. Stated he was from the State Attorney's office. He thought I was the employee and began a verbal tirade. Nice job, dude. You're EXCELLING at breaking the law!

Got a call from a similar number couple months ago ignored then however for voice mail messages such as there is a lawsuit against me, that myself or layers must contact them, that if I didn't I'd be sorry. The man had some type of Indian or middle eastern accent. When I called back with my caller id blocked they said they cannot help me unless I call from my number.
Again today I got 5 or 6 calls from this number, when I asked where they were calling from said state attorney general
Office. I told them to quit calling coz I already know it's a scam, he kept arguing with me. When I called again with blocked caller id another guy answers with the same accent.

Anyway I did contact the FTC and FBI a couple months ago to inquire about such phone calls. According to them it's a FRAUDULENT SCAM, and it is against the law to receive threats from any collection agency or what not. So threats about being arrested or lawsuits is a scam!! I tried to contact the actual state attorney general
Office Line to speak with someone and their office is closed today!

This number called me today at work and said that I have a lawsuit out for me and that I have a case on file with the police after looking up the number on Google I saw that it was a scam and comments from other people who got this call as well and showing them everything that I seen. They told me to notify the state police. I'm glad I'm not the only one that this happened to!!!
