And what brought you here to comment on a post made 20 months ago?  You might want to learn to use proper English if you want any chance of being taken seriously.  "U haven't to remember." What kind of sentence is that?  Debt collectors do not have a right to harass, let alone expect payment from random people that they call who have no debt.

Again, you've missed my point, and the points made by many other people on this and similar threads... First, that people are getting calls for people that are not at their number, and the calls keep coming even if they insist that they do not know the person asked for.  Second, debt collectors are required by law to provide written proof of the debt.  Only then should anyone consider making payments.  If the collection company refuses to provide written proof, then one can only assume the debt is not valid.

I'm wondering where u get ur facts from .. also even if that is true do you really think that. The don't have the verification of the debt they will provide proof then your screwed try getting a settlement or payment plan after asking for proof they will just proofs it then enforce the contract

So you're saying people who exert their legal rights under the FDCPA are "screwed".  Interesting.  I'm tired of having a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.

REC CALL AT WORK FROM 715-942-9640. IT WAS AN AUTOMATED MESSAGE TO CALL 1-888-441-4544.  I CALLED THE NUMBER ON MY CALLER ID 715-942-9640. SHE STATED SHE WAS CALLING FROM SUPERLATIVE RM FOR A DEBT AT CASH NET. SHE STATED I HAD A DEBT THERE. I TOLD HER I WANTED PROOF THIS WAS MY DEBT BECAUSE I HAVE NOT HEARD OF CASH NET. SHE TRANSFERED ME TO A GUY WHO STATED THEY HAVE NO INFORMATION FOR ME BUT WANTED ME TO MAKE PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS. TOLD MR I WOULD NOT PAY ANYTHING UNTIL I KNOW FOR SURE THIS IS MY DEBT. HE PROCEDED TO SAY THAT I WAS JUST SAYING THAT. HE ALSO HAD FALSE INFO ABOUT MY EMPLOYMENT. I TOLD HIM I WANTED PROOF. HE STATED HE WOULD NOTE THE ACCOUNT THAT I WAS REFUSING TO PAY AND TAKE MONEY FROM MY PAYCHECK AS HE HAS MY EMPLOYER AND HE HUNG UP.  NOT SURE WHY HE WOULD HANG UP IF HE IS SUPPOSE TO BE THE "BILL COLLECTER"

Ok. I keep receiving calls from Superlative RM as well. And yes, I have debt. The issue is the way in which they speak to you. I answered a call just now. The man was absolutely unnecessarily rude and I qualify the things that came out of his mouth as harassment. My best friend is a damn Lawyer. She told me all about what they cab and cannot do. If they are calling anyone more than twice in one day, and trying to get personal info from you before they even state who they are and the purpose of the call in general, they are not acting within their scope of practice. I'm a human being. I am in a very rough patch close to homelessness. And why do I deserve to be verbally abused every single day?? No. People with debt aren't losers. We don't have our heads in our assess. Some of us had serious health issues. And then our health insurance didn't cover surgeries. And now we are in insane debt we can't pay, because we also lost our jobs due to hospitalization. So I don't buy all the [***].

    BUSINESS replies to Debt-free!
This company is calling my work place with a recording.  They do not specify a name and only ask that they be called at a certain number.  This is a very unprofessional way of doing business.  You do not call a business number for random collections.  I will be reporting them.

    Some rules to follow:
1.) If you do not have a phone set with voice mail and a display for Caller ID, get one.
2.) DO NOT pick up and answer a phone call from ANY name &/or number you do not recognize.  They can leave a message and a call back number if they care to talk to you.
3.) DO NOT call back a debt collector that leaves a message & number.  Instead, keep a log of the date & time they call.  It might come in handy later.
4.) DO NOT answer a call from a debt collector that previously left a message.  The phone is a for the lazy debt collector.  By your silence make them send you a notice and info by mail.

Your comment is going to get people sued.... Do not call a debt collector back?!?!?! Are you out of your mind? If a debt collector calls you, answer or call them back. More and more people are getting sued over this every day and the way to protect yourself from a lawsuit is to answer your phone!
