received text urgent call Chase, did not call back. SCAM

fake message claiming to be chase bank

got a message saying - ChaseBank-UrgentNotification.PleaseContactHelpDesk@9174233867 from infovtext@verizon.net

UGH!!!! where do these people get my number.

I received the same message and never called it but googled the number.  I think I will always check to see who the phone number belongs to.

I received 3 text from this number within 20 minutes. I blocked the number.

Just got two texts from "infochsevzw@verizon.net" that said "PleaseContactHelpDesk@ 9 1 7 4 2 3 3 8 6 7." I don't bank with Chase, so logged on here, suspecting a scam. Called back from a different number (one of the jump lines on our office phone) just to see what would happen, and got the automated message that my debit card had been suspended, and I'd have to "reactivate" it by entering the number. Phishing for debit card numbers, obviously.

Just got same text message on phone.  I have Verizon Wireless and do bank with Chase.  It's a cell phone number, first of all and Chase would never send a text with a cell #.    So after reading the above, I did not respond.

Appreciate the posts. Also received message on my verizon phone from nfo@vzw.com to contact CHASE @ 917 423 3867. Ran home to check my chase account online and everything looked ok. Googled the phone number and low and behold, another scam. Why can't phone companies track these people down and prosecute. What an invasion of privacy!
